First I would check cold control. Thats where you turn it off, if your temp is not warm. it can
be defective and not shutting off. If your temp is warm proceed with the following.
I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if freezer control is turned WARMER, which makes the Ref. colder
Also this might be a common Defrost problem, Ice
is not being melted by the defrost system.The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater,heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath
Check cold control (thats where you turn it colder)

Take a look at all of the people that post about problems with their appliances. It is not just Amana, but just about every make modle you could imagine.

I have a Amana ASD2622HRW Lately there is a loud buzz that comes and goes. We cleaned everything and blew it out under and behind the fridge. And it still is happening. Any suggestions? It still cools fine. But this Buzz is so loud that you can hear it through the house. Please help!

Assuming the water has been turned back on for a while, and your sure it's getting to the valve on the rear, follow this guide.
It should cover your problem. The freezer must be cold enough. 10 degrees or colder.

First step is to take a small paper cup of water and fill the cavity until it is near full. With the ice maker turned on, close freezer door and wait 3 hours to see if it harvests. If not, the ice maker is bad, and must be replaced. If the cubes harvest then.......
Three possibilities.
1. The water supply from the house is not delivering water to the water valve. Shut off the house at the meter, disconnect the line going to the water valve, and with the line pointed into a bucket, have someone turn the valve back on for a 15 second count. The water should come out smartly. If not, the line and it's fittings will have to be replaced.
2. The fill tube from the back of the machine that feeds water into the back of the ice maker is frozen up. You will have to remove the ice maker to visually inspect that tube. If blocked, it needs to be defrosted, but use caution. Too much heat too fast will start to melt plastic and vinyl parts you don't want melted.
If this is the case, then once cleaned out, you will have to change the water valve located in the back bottom rear of the machine because it is leaking during the off cycle.
3. If everything checks O.K. up to this point, you will have to purchase and install a new water valve, and install it.
P.S. Under very rare occasions the electric circuity in the ice maker will fail to send a signal to the water valve. Although rare, it can happen, in which case the best option is to replace the ice maker and water valve.

sounds like u have a bad ice maker or a bad water solenoid in the back of fridge just not shutting off all the way and letting water continiously drip into ice trap

If this keeps happening then it is most likely that the controller board is faulty and needs replacing.

On most Amana cabinets the water supply for the water and ice are from two solenoid valves. The water coming in goes to a double water solenoid valve splitting the incoming water so the fact there is water coming through as chilled water is not verifying that there is water supply for the ice maker. If technically minded you could locate this valve (normally at the back rhs ; compressor section) and try switching the supplies to check the solenoid valve. If you have water coming through then it may well be the icemaker module not asking for the water supply. As the simplest first step I would try defrosting the whole machine overnight and see if there is an improvement. I do know that checking the module is time expensive and would really need to be done by an engineer or alternatively replace this item. Hope this is of some help.

What tends to happen is that service techs have certain common generic parts in their van, and rather than ordering a part to fit and have a return visit, they fit what they have. Parts seem to be readily available. The compressor is listed but no HP Specs. Install Water Filtration Cartridge (some

a. Remove bypass cartridge from water filter head in rear
right corner of refrigerator section. Twist cartridge
counterclockwise 1/4 turn and pull down to remove.
Save bypass for use at a later date.

Sharla, It could possibly be the ice maker rod that tells the ice maker whether it's full or not. If it's in the down position it wants to make ice and it'll make a clicking noise. Lift the rod up if it's down. Hopefully this helps!? Best to you.

I'd like to know how you determine the age based on the info inside my Amana. I double checked the numbers. Model AFI2538AEB4 Serial KY2886165
