Our garage refrigerator is getting old and we wan
All of the new one will not work well in a garage. Your best bet will be a unit that is more than 7 years old. If you cant find one try a Hotpoint, this is GEs little brother. The hotpoints have an older design. I use one in my garage Model # HTS18GBSWW You should be able to find this at any appliance store around $500.
Refrigerator not cool freezer working
Rick,
This is the generic answer. Use the hair dryer (below) and reset the defrost (look for instructions from Sea Breeze)
Most of these units work with the freezer providing all of the cooling and a thermostat in the refrigerator section controlling a fan in the freezer (where the fan directs cold air from the freezer section to the refrigerator section via a duct in the back).
Look at the rear area of the refirgerator and locate a vent. This vent receives cold air from the freezer to the refirgerator. If you feel cold air coming out of this vent, then there may be no problem, just wait a few hours and recheck the refrigerator temperature.
Look at the rear area of the freezer and locate a vent. This vent provides cold air from the freezer to the refirgerator. Shine a bright light into this vent. You should see fan blades (possibly black plastic). If there is ice on the blades, then you have a defrost problem, and look to other posts on this site for how to manually defrost (or reset the automatic defrost). If the fan blades are rotating, then there is probably a blockage in the duct. Direct a hair dryer (warm setting) through the rear freezer vent and check to see if there is very warm air flowing out of the refrigerator vent (which indicates that the duct is not blocked). While using the hair dryer, you may be able to see the fan blades rotating.
If you do not feel warm air flowing out of the refrigerator vent, then run the hair dryer for a few minutes. (this was my problem, I saw no moisture drip from the vent, which led me to believe that it was more of a dry ice buildup, or that the ice was evaporated (desublimed to be technical).
If there is air flow and no ice buildup on the fan, then reset the automatic defrost. If this is not your solution, either the thermostat or the fan motor is the problem.

Need to defrost behind freezer since fridge won't work.
Hi, If the vent is plastic, it most likely snaps into place. If you look in the middle of the vent, there is a small tab holding it in.
Since you are needing to defrost this, do you know what to test to find out which part is bad?
I hope this helps and, if you need assistance testing the defrost, please let me know.
Thanks
Vic
Gargling noise
1# if there is any shortage of gas this type of noise you can hear, but this happens only if you feel there is less or insuffient cooling .
2# check water drain point, may be there is air trap and making noise.
Freezer is building up frost and refrigerator is not cold enoough
Almost certainly, you have a leak within the freezer compartment.
The cooling system will use a divertor valve to concentrate coolant to the fridge or freezer compartment - whichever is necessary to maintain selected temperatures.
If a seal within either compartment is compromised and leaks then the coolant will be excessively diverted to that area in an attempt to lower it's temperature - the other section will suffer since more coolant is diverted to the weaker area; the weaker area that is being excessively cooled will also have more moist air circulating, hence moisture will contribute to a build up of ice - exacerbating the problem.
Ensure that both fridge and freezer doors are closing properly, if they appear to be secure then also check that the seals are airtight - there should be no ice accumulating around them.
You might need to re-align the doors, or less likely, replace the door seals.
Please reply if you require further clarification or help.
Ice form in evaporator
you have defrost problem 1 timer 2 heater 3 heater remove the back panel in the freezer turn timer on till fridge go off if heater come on change timer and defrost thermostart
I have an amana ABB2224DEB.
open the freezer door, can you here a fan blowing??? if not that may be your problem, the evaporator fan not blowing cool airr up to refrig section,

Ya hit it right on the head. Sounds like a classic "pulling in moisture" problem. See if you can seal that air leak any way you can. That moisture can freeze up air channels and block the refer compartment from getting cool air from the freezer compartment eventually.
Refridgerator Not Cooling
The coil was frozen on my unit as well. Guinco tech Ron announced that this was a bad system board. Seems to be resolving as of this writing.
Need to find water filter on my amana model
Install Water Filtration Cartridge (some
models)
a. Remove bypass cartridge from water filter head in rear
right corner of refrigerator section. Twist cartridge
counterclockwise 1/4 turn and pull down to remove.
Save bypass for use at a later date.
b. See Water Filtration System Installation and
Operating Instructions provided with water filter
cartridge for filter installation and operation.
