Freezer won't freeze
The system has been stopped due the timer, need to locate the timer and turn clockwise if the compressor start again then you have to change it or look for a short circuit, any case better let the professional make the work

My IC6 icemaker jammed up and did not turn off the
Hi,
The reason this happens is because if the ice sits there too long it starts to merge together into one big clump. My old refrigerator also had a slight leak that would cause a drip right along the back of the cube holder, so that there would always be an icicle there. I had it serviced a couple of times and had them reduce the flow of water into the icemaker and that helped, but it would still happen to some extent. The only thing that would really work was pulling the box out a bit, using my hand to remove the icicle that formed, and then shifting all the ice around the back so that it wouldn't stick. Doing this *every* night was the only thing that worked.
My new refrigerator has the cube box right on the door when you open it so this is less of a problem. But old ice still tends to stick to itself and I will empty out the box every month or so to make sure all the ice is fresh and not sticking.
What you tried sounds like a neat idea, but I suspect it won't work. And the cubes might start to taste a little funny. The hard way is the only thing I know works for sure.
Thanks for contactng Fixya
The freezer is accumulating frost. i have
Some models like yours came with a defrost control board and others came with a defrost timer. They should be found inside the fresh food compartment and behind the temperature control panel. You will need to inspect and let me know which you have. Unplug first. If the control board looks or does not look burned it could be bad. The timer can be turned clockwise until compressor stops and should remain stopped for about 25 minutes. and then turn itself back on. If these look good then we need to remove the rear panel inside the freezer and test the defrost element with one wire disconnected to check for continuity. Just to be sure the element has not burned out. The defrost thermostat is connected to the defrost element and will have open contacts inside it above 50 degrees. Do these test with power unplugged and let me know what you find. Sea Breeze
Water line is frozen to water dispenser
just unplug it for 12 hours and let it defrost completely.also get the defrost timer checked and replaced if it happens repeatedly.
thanks
.please do rate the solution.
Do I need to empty the water from my drip pan
the pan is there to catch condensation from the compressor during the refridgeration cycle. the water build up to me indicates one of two things. Either the refrigerant level is low and it is freezing up then thawing, or if you have ice or water dispencer it could have a leak in the line. the only thing other than that is a leak in the magnetic door seal or other insulation causing condensation. hope this helps
Refrigerator won't get cold, top freezer is o.k.
There may be a fan and duct arrangement that blows cold air from the freezer to the refrigerator compartment. That fan is controlled by the refrigerator thermostat. If the door was open for a long time the fan might have been blowing cold air continuously and ice may have built up and blocked the duct preventing air flow to the refrigerator. Check to see if you can hear the fan running. You may have to press the switch that controls the light since that also sometimes turns the fan off when the door is open. If you can hear the fan, check if there is any air flowing out of the vent holes at the inside back of the fridge compartment. No air flow=no cooling. If no air flow, unplug the refrigerator for a couple of hours to see if ice in duct will melt then start up and check for fan operation and cooling. Frozen food in freezer will be OK if you keep it closed while refrigerator is unplugged.
AMANA AMERICAN FRIDGE FREEZER REF228DIRB
don't worry! find out a valve in the back of the refrigerator and after that connect the outlet with it. if there is no valve than there would be a hole behind the refrigerator....... just connect the outlet with it.............................have a nice day :-)
Refrigerator Smell
Is the problem more in the freezer than the fridge section. If it is it is possible that on a defrost cycle the heaters which warm the coil may have warped and ar heating something they shouldnt. Another possibility is if there is something in the condensate tray (where the water collects) or something touching the compressor which runs very hot, or even the compressor relay if it is a 'plastic' smell. Smells are notoriously bad things to trace as engineers normally turn up when the smell is either gone or so faint as to not to detect. All I can suggest is trying to narrow the search area as much as you can and hopefully youll find it. Hope this is of some help.
Frig not cold
check to see if the back wall of the freezer has ice build up if so that will be an automatic defrost problem
