I have a custom computer

OK this took some looking. From what I found this board came out of a couple of old Compaq & HP computers.
Now I found the Manual for the board , & drivers for both models. But,Windows XP is the latest operating system this board has drivers available for.

Asus cuv-nt from hp in another puter. boots into

Watch the screen carefully while the system starts after you turn on power. At some point there will be a message telling how to access BIOS setup. It's usually on the manufacturer's splash screen or just after, and disappears pretty fast, so you need to be watching for it. It's not always the delete key. I think F10 works on HPs but it can vary. But there will be a message telling you the magic key.

HDD Size

No display with any AGP card installed

Could be a myraid of issues actually. One option is that the motherboad IS faulty (Asus, MSI all see to face these issues). On the other hand, it could be due to a faulty video card port (still involving the motherboard though). The last option you might wanna consider, although most remote is your memory. Also, make sure that each of the video cards pruchased are of compatiable spces to your motherboard. Hope this helped. Thanks.

No display with AGP card installed.

If one of the components are not porperly connected or has faluire...the system boot up is halted with some beeps...You need to check whether the RAMS a properly fixed...processor cooler can be losened...

HDD Booting

check your master /slave jumper settings. have you have moved devices around your cables? set your boot sequence in the bios. Is there and OS on one of your disks? are they formated?

Power Switch

This board I think is an OEM board built by Asus for HP computers. Also named Pegasus.
Go here to find a PDF manual for that particular board -

On page 22, the last page, it shows you the pin-out for the connections for the front panel, ie - power button, reset, led's, etc. Hope this helps.

When I play dvds or watch videos on youtube the screen has a black border on both sides reducing the size of the screen

If you hit full screen on the youtube video and its not full screen, then it sounds like your monitor resolution is to low.

Rt click on a place on your screen and pick screen resolution, then pick resolution and increase it.

The first number is width, so say it's on 800x600 then go 1024x768

1. Restart the laptop PC and press repeatedly [Esc] on bootup to open Boot menu.
2. Select the optical drive (may be labeled as "CD/DVD").
3. Press [Enter] to boot from the CD/DVD.

Asus MB169B+ repair

John, most monitors made have no service guide.
all are different, every brand and every model
some of this thin devices, like this are snap apart
and some are glued (using glue not unlike "stickynotes"
they do that also to make it water proof (limited) so that makes it super hard to repair, just like many notepads,
or both. they are all very tricky to work on, (that is the price for thin)
the users manual at asus has no facts here.
nor do they list a service manual on it. (sad)
google for it or youtube it is the only way.

buy dead one on ebay,learn to take the dead one apart first
then work on yours.
other than that, call ASUS, ask for service manual
or google all week,

Asus vivobook laptop manuals and user guides

ok my PC in south american beach house.
has no @ key
nor do any of their internet cafe's
spanish keyboard, has non.

so we use the alt 64 trick
see next post for that.
but the kboard needs a right side keypad to do that
if not ouch get one, usb and plug it in.'

the top row of numbers on a keyboard can not
do the 6 4 strokes, only a working keypad right side.

I can not see you PC. nor country sold. so can not be more accurate.
this trick is from IBM, the first PCs did this too.
Thanks to IBM. (and the complex scan coded keyboard)

Wait until the installer prompts you. The generic mouse driver in bios is not good for the mouse you are using.

Asus x205t won't power on.

I just had a similar problem with the same Asus model. It drained the battery yesterday and today wouldn't start even after charging for 15min (the middle light was on so it was charging). The light bulb light was on though even when it wasn't charging. Tried pressing the button several times. Didn't help. Tried holding it for several seconds. Didn't help. But when I hold the button for around 30sec the light bulb turned off. And then another press and it turned on as normal. So the laptop must have been hibernated/sleeping. But it did give me a heart attack, especially when I realised that I will have to take it to Currys for repair where their very unknowledgable KnowHow don't know how to fix anything (send a laptop three times and still didn't fix the problem, they only know how to install software updates).
