Depending on the age of your system, it could be any one of 3 sizes, all of which are rated at 3 volts, or may not be used at all since some systems are using high-value capacitors to back up the CMOS info.
The type number on the cell will have 4 digits and may be preceded by two letters as well.

you can install win7 but some hardware may not detect...you can fixed it by upgrading the bother board bios firmware..
but bios upgrading is case sensitive...
Lan terminal not working
first check for all the drivers in the device manager....
if every thing is perfect in driver side, then check if the ethernet/ lan is enabled....
then check is the light in the ethernet adapter is lit, when you plug any ethenet cable in it...
still if it is not working, then finally try to update the latest driver for the ethernet controller....
if nothing works, then buy an pci ethernet card and use it.....
you can also buy external cards like usb to ethernet converter...
even belkin manufactures usb to ethernet controller....

Are you sure that both DVD drives that are on the secondary IDE channel are configured as MASTER and SLAVE by using the pins on the back of the drives?
Chassis intruder was showing every time I booth my PC
Hi galungnomen,
Open up the chassis and you find a pin 4-1 which is set. You need to set it to off. Here's a picture of where it is on the board, and you want to move the pin into the positions as shown in the picture.

No, there is nothing on the corner where you say it is damaged, i have one of these boards and still have the manual, the ps/2 sockets might have come away from the board and may need to be resoldered if anything. I am curruntly using a usb keyboard on my pc, and using vista, the keyboard automatically kicks it when post screen appears, what make of keyboard do you have? I suggest getting hold of another usb keyboard, they should be generic as soon as the computer posts. There is nothing in the manual that says there is a setting to change keyboards from ps/2 to usb. They should be generic.

This is a hardware failure with the bios, repair would not be simple I would take it to a
authorized service center for repair.
The thing is the bios is not starting other services or its getting stuck at most instructions result in a hardware failure, I would call
asus and see if there is a warranty
