REady keeps flashing on ultrium 960

Hi Rajeev

The Ready light flashing usually just shows tape motion and is nothing to worry about.
If there is no tape in the drive and you are still having problems then click the link below as i think your drive will need a full repair.

Get into services and Stop and disable RSM agent (Removable Storage Manager)

Ultrium LTO 3: Tapedrive won't accept tape / can't put in tape

the take up arms are not working it must go into a shop for pro fix this is a complex fault .

make sure the repairer is well trained with this type of machine as most are not

ive no idea all your system topology, what networks.
sure sub net but what is it , consisting of what.??? vast choices.

we use wired Gigalan here 1000 bits/sec. wired. every inch.
all connected with GIGALAN high speed switches,
with wifi , all you are doing is doomed to failure (1 day ok day2, not)
i can list the top 100 reasons way, but will not.
ill do a few..., , collisions with neighborhood, or noise.
Channels are shared, and this is bad, in the concrete jungles.

WIFI is RADIO, and will fail with noise, near by. RFI its called.
google that. or wiki it. wifi is ok for chat ,email and whatsap.
iffy on, skype...
If WIFI is your mandate (bad) then move it to channel 10.
i use wifi radar app and move to where the other guys are not.!!!+

if wired tell me are you using reserved IP in DHCP of this unstated router. do so now.
make sure the media server is on a reserved IP .
then setup shares.

what are you serving
audio
video or both.
can you see the files using the" my computer icon" , called
windows Explorer?
"this PC" in 10 now.
just because you can ping it tells you only that the ping requests are honored there, and nothing else.,
it must have the shares all set correctly.

next time tell the help the lay out of your system
even post a system diagram.

the 620 is old and we know them well here.

2010 made most are.
hp has no service guide like dell have.
Dell is best.! (do not buy HP)

age is first , with any savvy tech, we see age first, age tells a tech what might be wrong. easy. (and sets the path of actions)
the cause is 2 fold, (tech) power overload or overheating.

1: the big huge battery is removed first.
run on AC power pack only not that bad and now shorted out huge bad boy battery
even run like this FOREVER if that is you bag.
2: next the RTC coin cell battery is now dead
a $1 part, and when dead no PC can boot.
and BIOS goes NUTS, and random.

3: YouTube covers dismantle to RTC coin watch it.
4: overheating we run apps on any PC
to see if CPU is not too hot,
if yes we clean the PC out fully of all lint

5: overloading power, this is where the 20+ count comes in to play, 20 things inside any PC on average can in fact short out
and the power regulators inside see that and shut down and the PC goes dead.
we do the strip down test to find that.

if PC stays on, bad HDD is next fail.
like clock work , normal failures are known.
batteries first then HDD.
or simply packed full of lint alike all are 10 years old, no kidding, packed.

trips off means
1:fans dead
2: screen dead
3: all LED dead.
4: silent, right?
and holding power button for 10 seconds and released at end fails.
5: and fails with big battery dropped out fully.
there is start, we can do this 20 steps at a time. until TRUE cause is found.
RTC coin replaced is next.
seen as coin cell socket holder (nice)
