1. Please be sure that you have met the system requirements Creator 2011

2. Defragment your hard drive. This will allow larger files that you have created to be more easily read by the program and allow more efficient writing of data for video and audio capture to your hard drive. To do this:

* Go to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Disk Defragmenter.
* In the Disk Defragmenter window, select the drive (a.k.a. volume) you wish to defragment.
* Note the Free Space column. If you have less than 10% free space available you may run into issues defragmenting. Additionally, the drive is too full to capture any new media to it. Doing so may result in the hard drive crashing and data loss. Unless more free space can be safely made, it is recommended that you purchase an additional hard drive just for your multi-media projects.
* Click the Defragment button.

NOTE: If frequently using your computer for recording and editing audio and video, defragmenting your hard drive on regular basis (about once a month) is recommended.

3. Contact your video card manufacturer for the latest video card drivers. If you purchased your computer as a complete system (like Dell or HP), then go to the manufacturer's website for the latest drivers.

If you purchased your video card separately, then you will need to find out your make and model and go to the video card manufacturer's website to download.
* Windows XP: Go to My Computer and choose Properties.
* Windows 7 and Vista: Go to Start -> Control Panel -> System and Maintenance -> Device Manager.
* Click on the Hardware tab.
* Select Device Manager
* Double-click Display Adapters. You're video card make and model is displayed.
* To find out the driver details (such as version), right click on the make and model under Display adapter, and select Properties.

4. If running Easy Media Creator for the first time, or it's been a while since you used it, RoxWatch will require a few minutes to index your hard drive for new audio, video, or photo files. This allows Media Manager to create a convenient list of all the files you can create projects with in a single window. Once the indexing is completed, Easy Media Creator will launch faster only looking for newer files. However, if you wish to disable this function, do the following:

* Windows XP: Go to Start -> Run -> and then type "msconfig" and click OK.
Windows 7 and Vista: Click on Start -> type "msconfig" in the Search field and press Enter on your keyboard.)
* In the System Configuration Utility window, select the Startup tab.
* Locate RoxWatchTray10 (or whichever version you are using) under the Startup Item column and uncheck it.
* Click Apply and then OK.
* Reboot your machine.
* On reboot, you will receive a dialog from the System Configuration Utility. Check the box at the bottom of the window requesting not to see the dialog again and click OK.
*Creator.

Sounds like mic is defective, I'd ask for a replacement.

If you can't locate one via a Samson dealer (try Amazon) the next best thing would be to go to a musical instrument store and buy a universal (butterfly) mic clip. These have one of 2 standard screw threads on the bottom (you can get an adapter for the other size if it doesn't come with both) and will fit most mic stands. Because of the butterfly design they will take almost all microphones except the fattest ones - which need a soft rubber clip designed for 'radio mics'

Since it's probably going through some form of electronics I would think that is where your volume control would be. Name it.

Did you try opening the sound properties page in the control panel...look for the recording tab in sound properties..here you will find sliders for the inputs on the sound card(as for recording)..you may need to set these up also to make everything work properly...there also should be a sound mixer built in to windowsthat you can access by clicking the speaker icon on lower right side of screen(if you have icons enabled)..right click this to open and when you get to the mixer there should be a tab at the top for advanced controls..here you will find the recording controls..make sure the input is turned up and make sure the input in not muted..there should be a box for mute and it should not be check marked

You Samson microphone requires phantom power to operate. PC's don't have phantom power. You need to run your mic thru a mixer that has phantom power.

The delay is due to the time it takes to digitize the audio and pass the data through your computer to the audio board.

Depending on your system and software, you MAY have a setting for ECHO which loops the sidetone directely to your headphones so the delay isn't present/

You can probably solve your problem by plugging your mic into a powered USB hub, then plug your hub into the computer.

There are many factors that can affect how your recorded performance will sound, ranging from the gear (microphone, mixer, interface), the software your using, the room your recording in and the microphone and other recording techniques.

Keep in mind that this is a Consumer Microphone, not a Professional Microphone, so your recording can only sound as good as the mic can record, however there are many ways you can improve the sound you record with the mic.

Start with the recording environment. Hang quilts or other absorbent material on the walls to absorb reflections.

Use EQ and Compression in your software (google this for more info on using these tools)

Most of all, ensure you are using a Pop-Filter to eliminate any plosions (the loud popping noise heard on "B"s and "P"s etc). You can make one out of a coathanger and stocking that is just as effective as most commercial ones if you dont want to fork out the cash.

Use google as a tool to gain as much info as you can on Audio Engineering, and you shoud be able to improve the quality of your recordings quite drematically.

The Samson C01U records in mono, not stereo. This is why you hear sound coming only out of one (the left) channel.
