Analog transmission are prone to all kinds of interference. Microwave ovens is notorious for this while it is being operated. Also the high voltage that TV creates are strong source. Flourescent light is also a strong source. Anything that produce hight voltages can cause strong interference. The other ones are somewhat neglible.

Your microphone has a stereo miniplug, with 3 contacts, that look exactly like headphone minijacks. You have not stated where you are trying to plug this microphone, but most computers /sound cards will accept only mono minijacks, with 2 contacts. Should you have left/ right inputs for microphones, buy a splitter adapter that will turn the stereo jack of the microphone into two mono jacks.

However, i'd like to clarify which part of your system has failed. Is this the locking jack plug on the ME2 / ME4 tie clip mic. A common failure point.

Or the antenna on a beltpack (also common), or something else?

They're both fixable, the locking plugs are available to buy now from other suppliers. And the antenna are just an m3 plug with a solder bucket in the top. A HOT soldering iron, and a bit of heatshrink can repair these.

You must use a compatible transmitter, not just any old one on the right frequency.

Rechargables aren't recommended for wireless operation because they can die suddenly without warning. Plus the older they get the shorter their life span. Go back to good quality batteries and you should be fine.

Try adjusting the squelch level. If set too high it won't let signal pass and mutes receiver. If you need a higher squelch level your probably on an active channel and need to find a clean one.
