I am stuck on one channel on my sony TV. I went onto menu but do not see a channel fix area there to highlight.

Your channels come from your cable box or satellite IPTV box. When you change channels on the television, you are actually changing the box, unless you have an antennae. You need channel search in setup. Google make model manual They are all online

We have an older Sony DVD player that will not play a Disney DVD it previously played just fine. Ordered another new one and same problem! All other movies are working fine?! Please help!

You could have ordered DVD disc's that are of a different region then that are not working on your DVD player or it could be fake DVD disc's then too. You should always order from reputable business then.

Sony EVO9720 won't power up but does have power.

When you start talking about the TV having a fan this sounds like a plasma TV...If you want to spend a bunch of money on it take it to a service shop, plasma sets generally are not something the average somewhat technically minded person wants to try to fix, there are from 10 to 14 boards in your TV and literally every one can cause your issue

What went out on my sister's tv

Most likely is a blown capacitor. Open it up, check, find the Service Manual, find the value of it, buy one, de-solder the blown one, and solder in the new one. Cross fingers it didn't take anything else with it.

Do a factory reset to this set, and then check. To make it factory reset, you have to enter its service mode. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Lightening strike on my TV

Seems that your TV is under service warranty. Contact the authorized service center for Sony. Probably, its main power board have the fault. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.
