thats indicating the lamp door cover isnt attached properly or the lamp inst inserted properly. Check both items it could also be the lamp door switch if the door is shut ok and the lamp checks out as seated properly.

Three blinks means lamp door not properly closed.These sets have a tiny lever switch that the door activates when it is attached.Also what can happen is heat from the lamp warps the door enough where the peg on the back of the door does not engage the lever.I would suggest removing door and looking at it edgewise: is it somewhat bowed?What I have also done in this situation with door removed locate the slot and engage the lever with something not metal and turn set on.CAUTION: DO NOT LOOK AT THE LAMP IF THE SET COMES ON AND DO NOT JUST BYPASS THE SWITCH.Let me know what you find or if you need more advice.STEVE SD TECH

be aware it means (3 blinks) lamp door is not closed properly------it is not the lamp door.What happens here is the door becomes slightly warped from the heat from the lamp. When you remove the door you will if you look carefully see a small opening that lines up with a peg on the back of the door.Inside the opening is a lever (very small) that is the safety switch-------if the door IS YOUR PROBLEM AND you engage the level with something not metal, the set will come on and function.If this is the case hold the lamp door edgewise to examine it for bowing.The door is available on the internet.Contact me if you have questions.SD TECH

The lamp door cover isn't secured properly or the lamp isn't inserted correctly. If they both check out good then the door switch is most likely defective.

Like clicking noises?Yes?The tv board that called Ballast board is also dead too.Must also replace the Ballast board too.This Ballast board only job are to ignite the tv projection lamp only.The tv projection lamp been in the tv 1 1/2 or 2 years already?U used tv 4 or 5 hours every day?Yes,check the tv projection and replace it.If this a new tv projection lamp just a replacement check the door safety lack and the door to the tv projection lamp closed tightly and properly.

Lamp is going to end of its life and causing this problem. Its time to replace lamp in tv, rest of tv is just fine.
Lamp replacement procedure is easy and would be written in user manual, please buy Sony original lamp for good picture in tv.

Hi,

Flashing green standby led light at the front panel is an indication that the unit waiting for the lamp to turn on. Since the lamp led light flashes, the unit sensed it already burned out.
Faulty lamp driver has a different error code which is "flashing of the standby light 5 times".
Your unit will back to normal operation again after the lamp replacement.

When your red light blinks four times on the Sony KDS-R60XBR1 60 inch HDTV, this is an error code for a stopped up fan. The Standby/Power light of the TV blinks when there is any internal malfunction in the TV. The self-diagnostic function of the TV will cause the STANDBY light to blink or flash when the television detects an issue. The number of times the STANDBY light flashes corresponds to a specific issue.

Few examples are given below; some of the issues may be resolved without the need for service. 1 blink / 2 blinks / 5 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a power-related problem with your set. 3 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a power-related problem with your set. If the power light flashes three times in sequence in a Lamp TV, the lamp cover is not securely attached. I would first always check the lamp to make sure that its not burnt out. On my 50 XBR1 the lamp door is on the right side of the tv. But here is the code for three blinks of the light,

3 times, Diagnosis: +B overvoltage (OVP). Possible causes: IC501 is faulty (G board), IC5002 is faulty (G board). Symptoms of the problem: TV has entered standby mode.

I am sorry to hear regarding the trouble. This is a common problem on these models, unfortunately there is no small or easy fix for the same.What you have is a defective light engine (or optical block, as Sony calls it). This is a known problem with this series of Sony TV's. Sony used to cover this part under warranty even if your original factory warranty ran out. They have since stopped doing this.But I would definitely try contacting a Sony authorized service provider and see what they say. If it's not going to be covered, this will be an expensive repair to have a new Sony light engine installed. But there are rebuilt light engines available, and that is worth looking into. Sony may decide to replace the TV or at least, give you a substantial discount on another TV, so definitely talk to them.So you should start with contacting Sony Technical Support and see what they are willing to do for you.

Red led blinks 4 times is an error code that shows that fan is not running in tv, check fans connections and make sure all are plugged properly

Turn on the tv the green light will blink many times after that How many times the red light blink

You can find it on ebay

Use a eyeglass cloth or LCD screen cloth. Use NO solvants on it. Just dry cloth. ALSO goto the settings menu and put the tv in HIGH altitude mode. There tv's get too hot and the light engines go out. Green or blue tint. or dots. It also helps the lamp last longer.
