Audiovox AVT1498 TV Questions & Answers

You'll probably find that tapping on the TV will bring the picture back when it collapses. This is a common problem caused by bad solder connections to the set's vertical output integrated circuit. The connections can develop cracks over time from heat. A few minutes with a soldering iron is all that's needed to fix this. A TV shop could touch up the connections for some nominal charge, but I have no idea what it might be these days. It's been a long time since I worked in a shop, so I don't know what labor rates are now. Shouldn't be more than $50 as a guess. But it's certainly fixable, and less than the cost of a new TV.
No sound
called someone else. thanks but no thanks for the paid solution.
Sound no picture
Hi there!
If the set is a few months old, it should still be under guarantee. Return to seller for repairs. You will need proof of purchase and purchase date. Good Luck, JUS004
No picture but have sound
RDD6 - I had the same problem with my AVT-1498. Took it to the repair shop who told me it would cost hundreds to repair. I figured I could find a replacement crt for less but was wrong - they don't make these tv's anymore, and really don't make any 12v crt's anymore period. So I decided on a 15" 12v ready LCD model which fit the hole where the old crt TV use to be. I needed to rig it to hold the LCD bracket but that wasn't too difficult. Then just hooked the wires back up. Good luck with your situation.

Is there a picture in back of this line or is this line from side to side? If it is, it could have been a bad connection on the vertical output IC, but now, most likely, the IC is bad and has to be replaced. A shop should not charge you more the 75 to a hundred bucks to repair this. Good Luck
No Color on my Audiovox AVT-1498
That model has a history of bad solder connections in various circuits. I would not be surprised if that is the case with the color circuitry. You may get the color to come and go by slapping the sides of the TV or lifting one corner about 1/2 inch and dropping it. If it does, it is a bad connection and possibly fixable. If no change is noted, it could be a bad semiconductor or capacitor, etc., causing the symptoms. For that size set, it would probably be cheaper to replace with a different brand. Toshiba has a nice 14" model IMO.
T.V. overheating in our conversion van
If you suspect overheating then try removing the back and clean out with a long, wooden handled artists brush.
Make sure the children are not about and try it with the back off, but do not touch things inside.
You may blow cold air if you see what is overheating.
See how long it works OK for.
If it works without going off (assuming it was very dusty inside), then replace the back.
If it needed a fan to keep it working you may find out what needs replacing.
Audiovox AVT 1598
The vertical output IC or the vertical circuit is whats at fault. its all solid state and im sorry to tell ya that its not a user replaceable part. This set is probably not worth the repair it would take to get this set working again but please if you like ask a ;ocal repair shop what they thought about this problem.. Good Luck and please dont forget to rate this thread
Blue light on antenna isn't turning on remote start won't work.
It's possible that the issue with your Audiovox pursuit PRO9056c remote start system is related to the antenna or its connection. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
- Check the antenna connection: Make sure the antenna is properly connected to the control module of the remote start system. You may need to remove the panel where the antenna is mounted to access the wiring and connections. Check the wiring for any signs of damage or corrosion, and make sure the connections are tight.
- Check the fuse: The remote start system may have a fuse that is responsible for powering the antenna. Check the fuse to make sure it is not blown or damaged.
- Reset the system: Try resetting the remote start system by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes, then reconnecting it. This may help reset the system and resolve any issues that were causing it to malfunction.
- Consult a professional: If you are not familiar with automotive electronics or are unable to resolve the issue with the above steps, it may be best to consult with a professional technician who can diagnose and repair the system for you.
It's also possible that there is a problem with the remote start system itself, such as a malfunctioning control module
