Try unplugging the cables at the back and blowing the connectors and replugging them back in it somtimes works as a quick fix. Worst case it may be your back light or inverter board has failed.

The punching or popping sound and no picture or other sound indicates the power supply is blown. If you can solder then you should be able to do the repair yourself. Go to our web site at: www.ccl-la.com/capacitors.htm and look over the information and pictures. Open the back of your monitor and look at the power supply board, replace all of the capacitors that you see and you should be back watching TV in no time. The problem is caused by heat buildup in the TV case which causes the parts called capacitors to overheat and bulge making them short out. The sound you are hearing is caused by the power supply trying to start and then shorting out and then starting over again. The first thing I would recommend for this problem is to do a factory reset. The way to do this is to go in to the menu, go under the settings tab, and select factory reset (in some models it will only say reset). If this does not fix the problem than you will need to replace your power board, you can find the parts you are looking for by emailing Westinghouse part department at [email protected], they will let you know price and availability on the power board. Hello, these are fairly new units as they have not been out in the market for that long. With that said I would recommend checkin if the audio is good using other inputs like the Tuner, Component (yPbPr) or simply RCA cables, if there is sound than mostlikely you will need to replace the main board. Sorry to hear you are having so many problems with your TV, one thing you can do to eject the DVD is to unplug the TV, hold down the eject button, plug the TV back on, (still holding the eject button) press the power button and the movie should come out. You might need a second person to assist you with this, if this does not work you can send me an email at [email protected] and we will figure out what you can do to have this fixed.

plug your cable connection to a vcr "in" then run a seperate cable cord from the vcr "out" to your television (which should be on channel 3 or 4) depending on your vcr setting and use the vcr to control the channel so when your westinghouse freezes and becomes unresponsive you could still change the channel and so on through your vcr and tv acts like a monitor works for me. N.B be sure to set the volume and so on before it freezes which could be like a 1min window from turning your tv on

Ur tv have only two possibility.The singinal tuner board,replaced that.Still same prob.Than it can't not be repair it the LCD screen is damage.

Be careful when remove the back cover! the switch assembly is attached to the back panel, do not yank too kard to remove the back.

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc. Look for 5vdc, 12vdc, and 24dvc.

Passive components on your logic board are developing faults and having a load problems. This causes an upset in the timing process and will eventually stop working completely. If you have some electronics background and some test equipment I can show you how to fix this problem.
