I would to try the main board first.

unplug an replug it . its about all you can do a cheap lcd 40" now goes for 350 an less new.

something in the room could be interferring with it. Sometimes glare from a picture or mirror can do this.

It sounds that the firmware upgrade is not successful or wrong version firmware have been upgrades. It will best to contact any service technician. Do not try to upgrade it further. It might make the set irrepairable.

You need a T-con Board and I have that one for $80.00.
I reclaim working components for TV damaged in shipping or returned for other reasons. Simple repair for any body with a Philips screwdriver. NO special tools needed.

Likely a shop repair but suspect number one is power supply board in the set.

lay tv down on a flat soft surface remove 4 philips screws on back on either side of signal brd inputs base will pull out of bottom

I had the same problem and was irritated and even emailed Westinghouse. I unplugged the TV and turned it back on and held the eject button and it worked. I am not sure this will work for everyone or if it was luck. It was stuck for 2 days.
