Sounds like u need to go into CMOS (System Setup) upon boot & make sure that the HARD DRIVE is the FIRST item in the BOOT ORDER and NOT your CD DRIVE. Also, make sure your Hard Drive shows up in the CMOS. If it does, then note what it says about the hard drive as it boots... If it is a bad hard drive, then nothing will install to it unless it is fixed or replaced.

How do i bye pass the bios password in gateway
This information is intended for experienced users. It is not intended for basic users, hackers, or computer thieves. Please do not try any of following procedures if you are not familiar with computer hardware. I'll not be responsible for the use or misuse of this information, including personal injury, loss of data or hardware damage. So use it at your own risk.
A. By Using the Motherboard Jumper:
In most motherboards CMOS battery is soldered, which makes it difficult to remove the battery. In this case we use another method.
Almost all motherboards contain a jumper that can clear all CMOS settings along with the BIOS password. The location of this jumper varies depending upon the motherboard brand. You should read your motherboard manual to check its location. If you don't have the manual then look for the jumpers near the CMOS battery. Most of the manufacturer label the jumper as CLR, CLEAR, CLEAR CMOS, etc.
When you find the jumper, look carefully. There will be 3 pins and the jumper will be joining the center pin to either left or right pin. What you need to do, is remove the jumper and join the center pin to the opposite pin. e.g. if the jumper joins center pin to left pin, then remove it and join center pin to right pin. Now wait for a few seconds and then again remove the jumper and join the center pin to left pin.
Make sure to turn the PC off before opening the cabinet and resetting the jumper.
B. By Using Software:
I have found that BIOS/CMOS Password Recovery Tool is the most effective.:
BIOS/CMOS Password Recovery Tool is a program that works instantly to remove any lost or forgotten BIOS/CMOS password. Simply boot your PC to DOS and execute the program, and get access to forgotten BIOS/CMOS passwords in just seconds

Did you change something on the computer recently? Plug in a new device? Change a device? If so its causing a error with your system.
If you didnt do any of the above then you need to re-install windows. But a blue screen indicates a hardware problem.

Bye passing a bios password in gateway laptop
If you are talking about the BIOS password that comes up before windows
loads you would have to disassemble the system and find the CMOS battery
which I believe for this model is located in the back left corner
underside of the motherboard. You will see there is two metal prongs
attached to the battery which connects it to the motherboard. You will
have to get a paperclip and bend it into a U shape and simultaneously
touch both prongs at the same time. Hold it there for approximately 15
seconds to short the board. This will wipe all BIOS/CMOS
configurations.
NOTE: You will have to boot into the BIOS (F2)
to reconfigure your date and time or else you will run into issues when
Windows cannot sync its time over the web.
If you are talking
about the Windows password, there is a plethora of utilities you can use
to get into the SAM file of windows and reset the password. I would
try @ctive password changer as it is my favorite tool for this purpose.
Good
Luck,

Initially a gateway pentium 4 with XP got a boot
STOP error 0x24 means a problem occurred in ntfs.sys, the driver file that allows the system to read and write to NTFS drives. STOP code 0x00000024 may also display "NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM" on the same STOP message.
Seems your hard drive is experiencing problems causing this error to occur.

I have a Gateway LP2417 monitor and there's No sound.Hoe do I fix it,so I can hear the video that is playing?
This monitor may not have built-in speakers. It may have supported Gateway's monitor mounted sound bar. That sound bar connected to the 3.5 mm audio out on a computer and a DIN port on the monitor.
The simplest solution is to connect your source to appropriate speakers. Depending on your audio setup, you could connect the video source to a receiver with HDMI IN and HDMI Out (ARC), computer speakers or an audio extractor. (If you are using an HDMI cable between the Gateway LP2417 and a computer, you may need to reset the audio output to use basic computer speakers (3.5mm jack).) VGA and DVI connections don't support audio so I assume you are using the HDMI port.
I hope this helps.
