No audio

Its time to clean the reader, thats a little laser eye in side the unit. that gets dusty, buy a cleaned disk, follow instructions, I bet ya this helps. DFD

Incorrect region code
This is how to make Philips DVD 622 region free so that it can play VCDs from all regions.
*Open CD tray by holding down "stop" button on the remote.
*Enter 2812
*Hold down "OK" button on the remote till 9 appears in the TV screen
*Turn off power of your DVD player
*Turn your DVD player on and it is region free now

Mp3 disk no audio when playing
First, make sure the CD is an AUDIO CD, and not a DATA CD
If you have recorded a Picture CD or MP3 CD
yourself, ensure that your disc contains at least 10
pictures or 5 MP3 tracks.

Find EXACT model # on back of Cobolt - every character is important, because one of them indicates a country - call manufacturer and they will tell you based on the model #
My dvd player wont turn on
Unplug the unit - look underneath disc tray for an oblong shaped hole with another pinhole or plastic white piece down inside - use screwdriver to move the white piece to other side of oblong - disc should eject. Then try plugging dvd player in and try again.

Swap out the red/whites - loud hum means something isn't hooked up right
Make sure a/v cables going OUT from dvp and IN to tv
Bad Disc
Try using a lens cleaner and see if that resolves the issue. Also see if this error occurs with all discs or just a particular one. If it happens with all discs, then it is a lens problem. If it happens with just a few, then its likely that the disc itself is scratched or defective.
If the lens cleaner does not resolve the issue, then you will have to open the cover. Try using a can of compressed air to clean out the insides. Also, clean the lens itself with some isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab. If the lens is scratched or dirty, you may have to replace it, in which case, it would be cheaper to simply buy a new player.
