Hi,
Please unplug TV and dvd player from AC wall socket for minute or so to get reset both units, replug back in, first turn On dvd player, let it play disc then turn On tv and let tv recognize dvd player through HDMI port.
Try another HDMI port in TV is problem not solved.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

If you refer to p.21 if you are trying to get the interlaced setting. the hdmi indicator cannot be lit. If your tv has HDMI then you should be able to use progressive scan.
Thanks,

Look on the bottom of the unit. There is a hole with the letters ex and op. Shine a light in the hole and you will see a white plastic object with a slot for a slot screwdriver. You can turn this either way but be careful. If you feel resistance and the object does not turn, turn the other direction and the unit will open. Remember if the disc loaded the clamping of the disc is in place so you must turn it the proper way to let the current disc loose hence the op and the ex. Op is open. Ex is exchange.

If it plays everything except HD DVDs, then the player needs to have it's software updated. Not sure how this is done. You may have to contact the manufacturer, or return it to the store you bought it from. If it has problems playing all discs, then the laser may be dirty or out of alignment. Buy a cd/dvd cleaner and try it. These are simply discs that have a little area on them that you put a drop of cleaning solution and then insert into the player. If you are mechanically inclined, you can try opening up the player and using some rubbing alcohol on a Qtip to clean the laser lens (if it is accessible).

Are you a television engineer? Do you have all the test equipment? Normal people can't repair their own televisions. Do you know that the main board you put in was a good one and not out of a scrapped set? Can you send it back and ask for another one? Taking it to a television engineer is by far the cheapest way to fix. Or you can change all the boards, but make sure you buy them from the manufacturer and not Jimmy. Change all the boards before you turn on the power to avoid 'domino effect', one bad board kills all the other boards attached to it.

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. https://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Blinking codes details to many popular brand TVs are given. Surf the site with patience. If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.
