My laptop in not working
There are many possible answers to this and i would need some more information to get it correct. If you could answer a few questions then re-post, I will get it fixed for you.
What if any software have you recently installed?
When was the last time you performed a check disk on your boot drive?
What is the amount of free space on your HD?
Have you tried starting in safe mode? If not, you should try this first. If it starts in safe mode then you reboot into last known good config. If this doesn't work re-post with this post and i wll take you to the next step.

Hello,
Recenlty, when I started up my laptop I
Try to remove the battery and connect the power adapter and the cord only. Making sure that the power adapter has a green light. Then try turning on your laptop. If it fails then the power adapter is broken, you are going to need a new one, exact model of the power adapter. In any case, you can always recover your files by removing the hard drive from your laptop and insertng it to an external casing so that it will be an external hard drive. By this, you can connect this to another computer thru usb connection where you can back up your important files.
The cd drive is stuck,
When you use the tiny hole on the tray of the CD-ROM drive, you will need to use a paperclip. You will need to physical push the paperclip into the hole, and keep pushing rather hard. You are actually physically pushing the tray out.
Good luck.
Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop (windows/xp sp3) No boot
Hi There,
Probably the easiest way to repair/replace the boot sector is using an XP install Disk. You need to insert the disk, restart the computer, and begin pressing the F12 Key during Bootup. You should be given a Boot Menu. Select your CD/DVD drive as the drive to boot from. Let windows XP do its setup and you will halt at a screen that gives you a chance to Press R for repair. Press R. You will be in DOS mode with a cursor blinking. Type FIXBOOT and press the enter key. Follow the propmpts.
If this does not fix your boot sector, go through the same whole process again but at the cursor type in FIXMBR and hit the entr key. This is to repair the Master Boot Record.
If neither of these tools get you booted back into Windows, then you could have any one of a number of other issues, It would be difficult to address them all in this forum.
I don't wish to be a doomsayer, but an Inspiron 6000 could easily be 5 years old, the same as the expected normal life of a hard drive.
Best of Luck.

Normally all should be uninstallable from Start / Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs. If they are refusing to budge you will have to use an antispyware: install Spybot ,

I cannot turn on the wifi using the Fn-2 key
Not sure on the wifi part but as far as your lost files... when you reinstalled the operating system(windows xp), depending on the options you choose, there is the posibility of losing all of your personal data. This does not nesicarrily mean that the data is gone gone forever kinda thing but it can be an expensive process to recover data that has been deleted and there is not guarentee that all or any of it can be retrieved.
I have used the recovermyfiles software at the site below, before and it took a long time and did recover a good deal of data when my wife did a system restore(reinstalled XP) but it was a lot to sort through because the files do not keep their original name most of the time.... anyway it may be something you want to look into.

I have a dell 1501 inspirion laptop how to i re
If you want to get it back to the original settings without the latest patches, turn on the computer and hit <Ctrl> and <F11> together when the blue bar displays with www.dell.com during the boot sequence. If you miss the timing, let the computer boot-up then shut down again and retry. This will restore from a compressed partition on your hard drive. Thus anything you have added (programs/files) will disappear. Do not power down during the Restore sequence or you could end up with an unusable machine.
Use the Windows System Restore if you just have a bad driver.
I hope this helps.

hi there, the program isn't necessary, if your computer is capable of burning DVD's, you can try obtaining some DVD burning software, you don't have to get the memorex burning software, you can try different software from different sources .
