I suggest you install the audio driver again,You can download the device drivers from Dell WEB site, the support download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop, better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on thebottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Taglabel is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages, the Service Tag number will be displayed). This will open the page where thespecific drivers for your model computer are located. Also make sure you selectthe Windows of the drivers for your Windows operating system. Wireless conflict? Are you able to connect and get on the internet?

Let's start with Internet Options. If you have Windows XP Click Start/Control Panel/Internet Options. If you have Windows Vista or Windows 7 click Start/Control Panel/Network and Internet/Internet Options. When the Internet Options window opens on the General Tab make sure you have a valid web address as the Home Page. If not, create a simple Home Page by typing: http://www.google.com You don't have to click OK now because if you do the Internet Options window will close. Click the Security Tab and under where it says "select a zone to view or change settings" Click on the one that says Internet, then scroll down to near the bottom right and make sure that DEFAULT is grayed out (whereas you cannot click on it). You can Click on Default just to be sure. Next click the Intranet so that it is highlighted and make sure DEFAULT is grayed out so that you cannot click on it. Do the same thing for the other two zones (Trusted Sites and Restricted Sites). After all zones under the Security Tab are set to Default click the next Tab which is the Privacy tab. On the Privacy Tab you want to make sure that DEFAULT is grayed out, if not click on it. When in doubt just click the Default tab. Next skip over the Content tab and proceed to click the Connections Tab. On the Connections Tab make sure that the Never Dial A Connection is checked if you have something in the white box above it in for Dialup and Virtual Private Networks settings. Look down on the right near the bottom and Click the LAN SETTINGS button. When Lan Settings open up the only box that should be checked is the very first box that says: Automatically Detect Settings. If any other box is checked remove the check from it or you will never be able to connect. Click OK to close the LAN SETTINGS tab. Next skip over the Programs tab and click the Advanced tab. When it opens slide the blue bar on the right all the way down until you get to the bottom of the window. You want to be able to make sure that if you see something like (Use SSL 2.0, Use SSL 3.0, Use TSL 1.0) that you put a check in the box to the left of each one of them. Afterwards you can click OK to close the Internet Options Window. Next lets go boot your computer in Safe Mode. Go to www.google.com and in the search box type:"Download cnet Malwarebytes" (without the quotes). Download and install malwarebytes from the sites download.cnet/malwarebytes. When thesite opens up click on the Green Download button on the left. Do not click the Red Download button, that's junk. When it finishes installing the Gui Interface will open up with an offer to Accept a Trial Version or Decline. CLICK DECLINE you want the totally free version. Run a QUICK SCAN. As it scans, if it finds infections the number will be in red. When it finishes scanning, click SHOW RESULTS. A notepad text document will open up showing you the results. You can close the text document and go back to the Gui Interface where you will click REMOVE SELECTED RESULTS. The objects will already be selected for you. When it finishes removing the objects click ok and it will sometimes reboot your machine. Maybe you are having issues with your Network Connection.

For Windows XP below: Click Start/Control Panel/Network Connections then Right Click on the Wireless Network Connection and select Properties. When the Properties window open click the Wireless Networks tab. Click on the SSID for your wireless network that you connect to and the Properties window will open. You can change the Authentication Type to match the type set in your wireless router and you can also change your password or Network Key to make sure you have it in correctly. For Windows Vista below: Click Start/Control Panel/Network and Sharing Center then look to the left of the open window and click Manage Wireless Networks. Find the SSID of the network that you connect to and double click it. When the window opens click the Security tab to change the Security Type (which is the Authentication), The Encryption Type and the Network Security Key (which is the password). For Windows 7 below: Click Start/Control Panel/Network and Internet/Network and Sharing Center then look to the left and select Manage Wireless Networks. Find the SSID of the network that you connect to and double click it. When the window opens click the Security tab to change the Security Type (which is the Authentication), The Encryption Type and the Network Security Key (which is the password).

Cmos bettry cannot remove the bios password how can i remove the bios password

Did you leave the battery off for a couple of hours? Maybe even overnight if it's stubborn. If you left it off overnight and it did not remove the password, then you will have to short the jumpers. I would go to the dell support site and see if they have anything in the manual on the BIOS Password.

What is the process for resetting factory setting?

Press and Hold CTRL + F11 when you see the blue bar at the top of the screen that has www.dell.com (this will be soon after powering on the machine). It will then display "Dell Recovery by Symantec Ghost" or something similar. Choose the restore option and then follow through the prompts.

How to change a laptop screen

For a Dell Inspiron 1300 Notebook PC?

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins1300/en/sm/index.htm

Click on Display Assembly.

1) http://www.lcds4less.com/DellLaptop__Dell_Inspiron_1300__laptop-screens.html

A) Remove ALL power from the laptop. Remove the AC adapter (Charger) and Battery.

B) Use a multi-compartment container for the various screws you will remove.
Label each compartment for the area the screw/s come out of.

If no multi-compartment container is available, you can use a clean egg carton.
Label each egg holder.
(You can also use double-sided tape)

When you go to install the video cable on the back of the LCD screen, you may wish to lay a towel down to protect the screen.

For additional questions please post in a Comment.
