you can hit "menu" and then "find by name" and enter the name and you will see them there.

I found the solution that fixed my 60CSx. You need to make sure you have the latest chipset installed on your device. Go to

and download the chipset type G ver 2.9.

After you have loaded it on your 60CSx, you should be good to go. Just turn it on like you normally do and now you'll see your device retrieving locks w/ the satellites.

Your electronic compass is probably turned on, and if so, either it is not calibrated or you are not holding the GPS unit level.

Try turning off the electronic compass by holding the PAGE button in for a couple seconds. With the electronic compass turned off, the GPS will instead show direction of travel using the current track, which is probably what you are expecting.

This is a little funny.

The reason the arrow doesn't move within the game is because *you* are not moving. You have to go outside and start walking around to make the arrow pointer move. These are GPS games and they are best played outside in a large area where you are free to walk around in most directions (like a football field). Start the game in the center of the field.

The Maze game is quite fun, and you'll get some good exercise. Move over Wii Fit! ;-)

try useing the webupdater at garmins website to upgrade the software on your gps, this may solve the problem let me know if you need further assistance.

Have you highlighted the section with the map select tool, then hit the Transfer to GPS button? If you do, what happens then? Does it freeze?

If you are able to send routes and waypoints to the unit, you should be able to send selected unlocked maps as well.

I think all the Garmins allow to do is generate a waypoint list on your PC and upload THAT to the GPS, according to what Garmin told me about my Streetpilot C340. You also need Mapsource on the PC.

The compass is very sensitive. Anything magnetic will intefere with its ability to calibrate. Try taking the unit outside, far away from anything metallic, and lay it down on a flat level surface, then follow the compass calibration procedure. Make sure you rotate the unit clockwise and turn it very slowly. If that doesn't work, you could have a defective sensor.

I'm not sure what you're using the compass feature for, but on mine I disable it. It draws the batteries down faster and I find that my track, or course over ground, is more reliable than the compass heading. The only real advantage to the compass is if you want to get a bearing while you are standing still.

I suggest you try resetting the device by following the instructions in the owner's manual. If the issue persists, it may be due to an error in the map database. You can try reinstalling the maps to the memory card after unlocking them for your device. If you are still experiencing issues, please contact Garmin Product Support for further assistance . By 'resetting' you mean it switches off, and because it is connected to power, it boots back up. Do you have a SD Card in it? I had trouble with a Nuvi 1350 with SD Card that had the whole USA Map on it, mine came with the Canada Map only. It would randomly turn off, so I decided to buy a Factory Refurbished Drive 50. I removed the SD Card and Reset the Nuvi and it worked perfectly after that. The Drive 50 was also a bit flaky, and resetting fixed that as well. You can back up your Favourites beforehand.

I recently purchased a Garmin GPSMAP 78s I had a lot of trouble calibrating the compass; I literally tried it hundreds of times without success. I also did a hard reset etc etc. Believe me I definitely tried everything possible but to no avail I did contact Garmin but they didn't have an answer straight away for the problem I have now sorted it as follows: Do each step VERY SLOWLY, MUCH slower than you think you should There are three steps to go through in calibrating the compass 1)Spinning the whole unit around flat 2)Flipping it over longitudinally and then 3) Flipping it over end to end. But remember do each step VERY slowly and go to the next step when prompted by the unit This solved my issue. I can now calibrate my compass 9 out of 10 attempts Hope that helps

To open the MTP settings on your Garmin Nuvi 50LM, you will need to access the device's menu. From the main menu, select the "Settings" option and then select the "System" option. Hi Earl, Sometime it could just be of aging. I have a 130, it was having similar problems, until i realized it was the screen not showing, but power on turning on. In your case, I probably probably try a hard factory reset as follows: To perform a master reset:

1. Turn off the device.
2. Press the PAGE, ENTER2, and POWER buttons simultaneously.
3. Release all buttons once the Do you really want to erase all user data? message appears.
4. Select Yes.
