did you try checking all the speaker wires and speakers for shorts or grounding issues??

You have used the worng remote output, you have used the electric aerial wire (blue) to switch on the amplifier and you should use the remote wire (blue/white).

Are the copper contacts clean? use rubbing alchol.
Are they intact? No? it needs to be professionaly repaired.

Resistors (loudspeakers of equal resistance) in parallel ... divide the resistance by 2. Answer to your question is yes, you will have 2 Ohms.

Did you do anything around the rear window glass? That is where the aerial is unless you have some other type of antennae. There is also a connector plug under the dash behind the radio. Your signal isn't strong enough for some reason. Have you tried switching between FM and AM channels.
