KitchenAid 23 in. KUDD01DPPA Stainless Steel Dishwasher Questions & Answers
Have a kitchenaid double drawer dishwasher. While
Mine does the same thing! (Same model) I've finally discovered that if I start the bottom drawer first and the top drawer just after that doesn't happen as much. Also, if I run the garbage disposal (and water obviously) while it's starting (I will try to do my hand washing while the dishwasher is getting going) that seems to keep this from happening as well. I've given up running just one drawer, which totally defeats the purpose of buying the 2 drawer dishwasher. But it does keep me from having to bail the bottom drawer :-( I'd like a better solution to this too!
Error code - electronics malfunction
You are in deep doo doo. When those electronic boards go, only repair is to get new board. Parts are proprietary and expensive. I prefer simple mechanical controls that are reliable and inexpensive to repair when and if. Check ebay for part - you just might get lucky if someone is parting out similar unit.
Won't run unless i push ******* the drawer
On the right side of each drawer, near the top is an optical sensor (light pipe) that reflects infrared light of the side panel to indicate proper door closure. I f the unit is not aligned/installed properly the sensor will not sense proper door closure.

Kitchen aid dishwsher KUDD01DPPA had
Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today. This unit wll set off a flood switch error on the top drawer if the bottom drawer looses power. You would have to replace the chassis board the one on the bottom with the flood switch on it.
Thank You and please rate my answer if it was helpful..
Water in bottom drawer.
Press the "Drain/Cancel" button- If water remains, try this: The first thing is to check if the dishwasher drain hose is clogged or maybe kinked, preventing proper drainage. If the hose goes to an under sink garbage disposal, try switching the disposal on and see if it clears the clog. You nay have to disconnect the hose from the disposer to check the hose for clogs. Make sure the dishwasher door is open, so it cannot start.
Model KUDD01DPPA KitchenAid dishwasher
Error:
Hi
The issue seems to be with the float switch assembly that is bad and should be replaced. Float assembly is found inside the dishwasher's tub, on the bottom. The water that fills your dishwasher lifts the float, and when it reaches a certain level, it acts as a trigger for the float switch. The float triggers the float switch to shut off, thereby shutting off the flow of water into the dishwasher. A defective switch may interfere with your dishwasher's filling and/or draining ability. Use your voltmeter to test the switch. Set the device to the ohms setting x 1. Take each probe and touch them to one switch terminal each. This should produce a reading of either zero or infinity. Continue to touch the probes to the terminals, and press down on the switch's button. The reading should change to the opposite extreme. If your switch fails either of these tests, you should replace it. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Rinse light illuminated continuous beep.
The problem is the flood switch is activated. This a an electrical switch located in the bottom of the dishwasher. I have seen this problem with my dishwsasher and is normally caused by loading something into one of the drawers that is just too tall. This will prevent the lid from closing fully during the runn cycle and ppour water to the bottom.
Open the lower drawer and remove. Use towels to sop up the water around the circuit board in the bottom. There is a white cover over it that you will want to remove as well. it is easly put back on. Wait 24 hours until the whole thing is dry the power it on and all should be good. we have some square plates that must be loaded inthe right half of the drawer or this problem occurs.
Good luck.

Cannot unlock draw
Usually a locked draw is caused by an electronic controller failing. To open the draw you can pull it with even firm pressure but do not try and close it as thelid is in the "down "position. Before closing you must go inside chassis by pulling out the affected draw ,unclip the lid motors from the lid supports and push the lid up to the raised position and then wind the arms of the lid motors to the new height, manually and then clip the lid motor arms back into the lid supports. Then replace the draw. Then you must replace the electronic controller...
