GE Energy Star WCVH6260F Front Load Washer - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

My ge front load washer fills then stops during cycle and does nothing else. It spins in the beginning then will not drain at the end

It sounds like the drain pump itself is damaged--the important clue was the humming noise. It could be bound up mechanically or the impeller could be damaged and just vibrating instead of spinning. The part number for the drain pump is WH23X10026. The fact that the pump was humming tells me that the 120v supply is being turned on by the main control board and that the wiring is good all the way to the pump. When I service customers, I try to save the pump if possible in clog cases. Most of the time, they aren't damaged from a simple clog. But, occasionally, the impeller cracks, or the nylon blade gets loose on the shaft, or the motor windings have defects from heat, etc.

GE top load Washer ripping clothes

Solution!
GE has replaced the "boot" (the large rubber gasket at the opening of the washer) on my washer. This has fixed the problem!

Although the majority of people I spoke with at GE did not know about this, eventually I got a repair technician out here who spoke with one of the engineers. The engineer said that there was a problem with the boot causing clothing to rip. The new boot we have on our washer covers a ring of plastic just on the outside of the metal drum (the plastic rim remains stationary while the metal drum spins - this is the cause of the ripped clothing) - the old boot left this plastic ring exposed. Our washer was only 8 months old - so even if your washer is new, if your clothing is being ripped, insist that the boot be replaced for an updated version.

Good luck!

Washing machine stops when there is 19 minutes left!

Jeanna, you are going to have to remove the lower panel and clean the drain pump filter. Easy job, once the panel is removed the filter will be right in front. Get a bucket and unscrew the filter cover and you should find a ton of lint and stuff in there. This model has a pressure switch that detects if there is water in the tub. If so it will do this pause and slow spin. Once the pump filter is clean you should be good...Catriver...post back.

Ge front load washer power button not working so I want to know how to check control board after it has been removed

You can;t check the board out of the machine. Inside the control panel area should be what GE calls a mini manual and wiring diagram. Should be test procedures in that paper work. It should tell you where to test for voltage if the board is completely dead. If you had power, the board can be put into a test mode to check all the different parts and cycles. Hopefully that sheet of paper is still inside the control panel.

Brand new front Load GE washing machine stop at rinse cycle

Check that the Cold water valve faucet is open. Perhaps the earlier vibration problems have caused a wire to come off the water valve connections inside the machine.

Plug in the washer and it starts humming even if the door is open or its off

Some GE front load washers go directly into a pump out mode after any power failure (or if plug is pulled). This is to keep it from possibly over filling during a cycle restart.

Can you stack this model

Yes you can. If you contact the manufacturer, they will have a kit that has everything you need. If it is under the first year warranty, you will need to use the GE part # for your warranty to not void your warranty.

My GE GCVH6260FWW front load washer made a load

If the drum is also loose, it is dead. The plastic your are finding comes from a part inside. It will cost more (or close) to fix than to replace and you risk breaking other critical parts if you DYI.
