Haier hwr10xc6 Air Conditioner - Page 7 Questions & Answers
I have an Haier AC and it's been great except that
Yes this can be fixed. Use a cleaning solution of bleach and water. take off the front cover. Spray the inside coil and into the vent. Try to get it all the best you can and let it air dry. This should kill any mold.
Seems to be filled with water
Your unit has a clogged drain passage that's why the water is staying in the front of the unit.If you take the unit case off look for a drain trough in the bottom of the a/c where the metal wall is that the fan mounts to thats where it is,clean it out and the water will flow to the back of the a/c and not blow or drip inside your house.
Haier AC HWR10xc6
Haier Air Conditioners do not have a drain hole or hose like most A/Cs. This problem can easily be solved by carefully drililng about an 1/8 or 1/4 inch hole in the bottom outside edge directly on the metal frame, around the cooling fins.... This will elt the water drain out...if you when outside and looked in while it was spitting you would see the water pooling up in there. Haier expects us to mount these units at an ungodly angle to drain the water, but drilling a small hole will help (really anywhere in that bottom plate would work since the whole bottom is a "drain pan"
No Fan
don't run the compressor without the condensing fan. Try spinning the blade when the compressor starts if it works replace the cap.
Our air conditioner always ices up.
3 things will cause this. Trying to cool too large an area for the size of the unit, trying to cool an area too fast & dirty fins. Match the BTU's to the square footace (based on an 8' ceiling), Run it on low speed most of the time. Keep it on, even when not using it, if you will use it daily. Shut off the unit and spray the fins with Windex and then spray with plain water to rinse.
There is water leaking out of my A/C unit... How do I fix it?
Holley,
The water is supposed to drain out the back. Water is produced becaue of the dehumidifacation of the air when the heat is removed. The unit should be tipped towards the back by a couple degrees. If it is leaning back some then the water channels are plugged up and need cleared which might mean removing the case.

I have an E8 error message on my Haier hwr10xc6 Thru-Wall/Window Air Conditioner
I had a problem with my Haier Air Conditioner also and was getting an E8 error message. We had taken the air conditioner out to clean it and when we put it back in all we could get was the E8 error message. We tried several different things so I don't know if it was a combination or luck. Here is what we did.
First we tried holding in all the buttons on the panel and another person hit the on/off button on the remote (per a suggestion on the internet). The fan stayed on, but the compressor would cycle and it would get cold for a few minutes then kick off, but we never could get the buttons on the control panel to work. Nothing happened when we pushed them.
Then we checked the thermostat (the little tube in the front) . The thermostat tube was touching the coils. We rearranged the tube so it was not kinked or touching the coils. It was then getting cold, but we couldn't control the buttons. So we unplugged it (reluctantly because it was cool then) and plugged it back in and it started working. Hope this helps someone! I don't know if what we did worked or the mother board got wet and just happened to dry out or something.
A/c wont come back on why
check breaker and outlet for power. could be loose wire or if it has one in the cord a tripped or bad reset switch.
