Possible Hardware Problem?
Reformat the player and reload the songs. (warning: reformatting erases all songs on the player)
Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes, format it to FAT or
FAT32. - Connect player to computer, double-click my computer, right
click on icon of mp3 player and select format. This only applies to
Windows-based computers.
If the reformatting causing any issues, you can always rebuild the original software from Dell's own website:

I charged my MP3 Player, but it won't turn on!
Hi Katie
The problem is the battery. I have had the same problem as you and I found only one way to fix it. I don't know if you want to try this your self but I did it and it worked for me and know my DJ Ditty works great. This is what I did. I took the dj ditty apart and cut the battery out but I left the little circuit board between the battery and the ditty I then bought a battery that goes in a ipod shuffle and soldered it in. The battery is a little smaller but works great. If I can be of any help please let me know.
My dj ditty don't work
Same here! There must be a big problem with these things. I called DELL....that is a major ordeal in itself dealing with them.....but finally got ahold of a guy at corporate. He said they didnt make them anymore....wouldnt say why and offered a $100.00 discount on anything else they sold. I got a camera and they took off the money. Good luck! They are hell to deal with!
No recognition
This happens to my ditty quite often. When it does happen I plug it into the USB port and press the reset button on the Ditty until the computer recognizes it.
Corrupteed and Unrecognized Device
if this is your first attempt ever at this particular MP3 and pc link, is it possible the dell device is a USB 2.0 required port while your pc is limited to USB 1.0?
Wont charge
it is the battery. you have to buy a new one and put it by your self or ask help. and eventhough it is a new battery dont wait for the battery to die to charge
it will show - effect.
