What connection are you using for your projector lamp going to source (i.e. computer, TV or VCR)? Is it a VGA, DVI or HDMI connection?
If you have a VGA or DVI connection going to either the computer or to a TV or VCR, you need to check the pins of the cable going to the picture source. Make sure that there are no bent or missing pins.
If there are not bent or missing pins on the cable, then the problem is the Optics Block, this set is a rear projection and it means there is no color wheel.
Hope this helps and have a great day!
I have only had my sony tv for 2 half years and it
Hi I am Vortash sorry to say lamps are notoriously thee major cause for 90% of projection tv failiures , and unfortunately you can never guess how long they will last .
Yes sure they say they will run for 3000 hours but not always as factors like posistion and airflow to the set will alter the opperating characteristics of a lamp the hotter they get the shorter they last , thats why there is no guarantee with a bulb once it is out of the packet . The next bulb you buy may last 3 years or it may last 2 or even 1 , so if you want your b8ulbs to last check that your set has a good airflow around it and that the fans are working correctly , that will pro;ong the life of your bulb .. regards Vortash
Ihave a sony KDF-E50A10 and the picture is fading
check the lamp timer in the menu page of the projector.it it is more than 1500 hours, it can be the lamp
alternativly u may also check the optical engine as it may be covered with dusty , hence resulting in dull images
Sony KDF-E50A10
If the lamp is new it could be the ballast the one is supply high voltage for the lamp you can order that ballast from Sony
Check the lamp if is not damage any where
Cheers
Sony KDF-E50A10
You may want to have the
optical block checked out. Usually when you see spots or blotches of color it's due to a malfunction of the Opt. Block assembly.
Lamp Issue?
Sorry, Sony is having a lot of problems with the light engine ($$$) on
these models. Contact Sony as they are covering them even though
they are out of warranty (class action lawsuits)
