MY DELL PC BEEPS 6 TIME, SHOW AND KEYBOARD ERROR AND DISPLAY A ORANGE LED AT THE MOTHER BOARD

The Dell user manual has the beep codes, which usually are in sequences with short pauses between. To figure out the problem one needs to know the spacing of the codes. Is it 1-2-3, or 2-2-2, or 3-1-2 or what? The first thing I would check is the RAM - make sure it is seated correctly, and try removing all but one stick.

Replaced cmos battery monitor stays in sleep mode

Try pressing F2 or F11 during boot up and go in to the bios. You should be able to adjust the power settings in there. If that doesn't work, use the control panel from within Windows, go to 'display settings' and change the monitor sleep settings there.

Buzzing noise

Motherboards use signals a radio signals to communicate across them. Some on board soundcards pick these signals up. Try purchasing a better sound card. This might eliminate some of those on board noises you are hearing. Hope this helps.

Alert! heatsink not connected and system halted

well YEAH! the cpu has overheated because the heatsink and/or fan over the cpu has to keep it cool. if it overheats(easily done), your system will stop and it won;t start if the fan does not spin. fix the fan/heatsink. it possilby could have killed the cpu too? not sure.

Power light orange

Open the box (unplugged) and take the memory out. Plug it back it, if you turn it on and there are no beeps, the motherboard has gone bad. Only fix is to replace the motherboard, or replace the whole computer. If it does beep, the memory is bad; replace the RAM (memory) While you have the computer open look at the little can like objects close to the back opening of the computer. If they have brown goo on top of them, or around them, or if the tops of some of them are dome shape, the motherboard is shot. This was a common problem with some of the OptiPlex units.
