Did you use your Key off the CoA label on the back of machine- - If not then you will have an illegal version of the software and not be able to get updates
The reason your hardware is not working is that you need all the drivers for the hardware - which you get from the Sony Vaio support website
not sure what country you are in, but all the drivers should be available here
http://esupport.sony.com/perl/select-system.pl?DIRECTOR=DRIVER&SR=nav:service_support:electronics:drivers_software:esup&ref=http://www.sony.com/index.php
I suspect you will need
Audio Driver
Video Driver - as you have described
Network drivers
and others drivers
Goto device manager and you will see devices that need drivers labeled yellow ? or yellow !
Press the
Windows key (bottom left of the keyboard} and at the same time press the
R key, now in the search box that appears - type
devmgmt.msc
That will show you drivers missing - they should ALL be available from the Sony Vaio site
Post back again, if you cant find the drivers for your model
BUT do check you have legal software - otherwise you will be at a security risk and get virus/malware again.
Also download a Virus scanner - there are free ones available - like avast.com which is my prefered choice, for friends and family
- Avast -- http://www.avast.com/en-gb/free-antivirus-download - to download the file ------- Registration for an annual key http://www.avast.com/en-gb/registration-free-antivirus.php
