Tru9466 base and tru9465-2 handset
Same manual as lethean provided on a similar post but Page 24 if the previously used Base is Unavailable and your phone shows "Deregistration" in the Menu.
Base Unavailable (Handset Only)
To clear the base registration data in the handset, please follow these steps:
Press and hold [] and [#] for more than 5 seconds. Select the BASE UNAVAILABLE submenu.
BASE UNAVAILABLE appears. Move the cursor to select YES, and then press the OK soft key.
ARE YOU SURE? appears. Move the cursor to select YES. Press the OK soft key.
Line 2 not working
Do you actually have two lines to the room? Check to make sure all phone cords have four contacts.
I bought some handsets but
First, select Deregister HS from the main menu. Secondly, press the red phone button and the # key simultaneously for about 5 seconds to finish deregistration. You will then see a message telling you to place the phone in the cradle of the base unit to register it to your unit. An "operation complete" message will confirm that the handset is now registered and ready to use. Good luck.
Phone message reads
If you are not too far away-not "out of range" then try rehoming/pairing the handset with the base unit. You probably need the phones together to do this. Your manual will explain how-it will have been done in the original setup.
My mic doesn't work; callers can't hear me
I don't have the answer but have the same problem. Uniden tech support had me disconnect power, etc. to no avail. Next solution was "replace the unit". I'm looking for a two-line phone with no answering device - use voice mail. Any ideas?
How can I clear the previous registrations from
Use the following steps to reset the base to factory settings for all TRU models:
1. Disconnect the power from the base
2. hold down the following three (3) keys: [dnd] + [middle soft key] + [*]
3.
While holding down the keys, plug in the base (hold the keys down until
you hear a long beep).
According to Uniden Tech support, this is supposedly all it takes to reset the
phone.
Phones won't Register!!
It is possible that you have maxed all of the headsets that can connect to the base. Yes, the base can support 10 headsets, but there is a small chance that in some way you registered more to the base or you purchased a base that had phone registered to it that are not in your possession. Either way, if the base is maxed out, you will not be able to register any additional headsets to it. The only option is to do a factory reset of the base unit if this happens to be the case. This is done as follows according to Uniden Tech Support:
1. Disconnect the power from the base
2. hold down the following three (3) keys: [dnd] + [middle soft key] + [*]
3.
While holding down the keys, plug in the base (hold the keys down until
you hear a long beep). This is supposedly all it takes to reset the
phone.
The way to determine the number of hand sets tied to the phone is to press the intercom key on the base and scroll through the list of phones. if you see more than the number you anticipate still being tied to the base, you will have to utilize the above procedure.
Tru 9496
SOLUTION:
1. First, remove the battery cover on your unregistered TCX905 and look
under the battery to confirm that you indeed purchased a TCX905 because
some Uniden handsets were packaged as 905's but were not.
2. Take the fully charged unregistered 905 to the base unit TRU9496.
3. On the TRU 9496 base unit press "Menu" then select "Registration" and press OK
4. You should get the message "press the # key on the remote handset".
5. Depress the "#" key on the unregistered 905 and it should register.
