Uniden DCT-7488-2HS Digital Phone Questions & Answers
Portable handsets have a popping noise
If the set was used for a long time it is possible that there is a feedback due to some capacitor leak within the circuit. use a dryer or wash off PCB and all the board to dry before the battery is plugged back . Check if the fault clears or improves, if so repeat.

Line always open on Uniden DCT7488
I moved some furniture around after christmas and unplugged the phone to do so. Now it does what yours is doing. It needs to be re-set up as if I just bought it. Is it possible yours was unplugged? Suggest you start from scratch with the set-up manual. Personally, I can't find mine. I have the french and am translating it. I can't believe the nonsense I am going through just because I unplugged the stupid phone. Good luck.

How does one get the handsets to record the new speed dial numbers on the base phone?
I'm pretty sure the speed dial numbers are programmed on a per-phone basis. Most people would not want changes on one phone's speed dial to effect the other phones.
I know registering the handsets will not make a difference. If the cordless phone is working, it's registered to the base. This is required so your neighbor cannot buy the same phone model and use your phone line. In the old days cordless phones were permanently linked to one base but now you can get extra handsets on many systems and "register" the phone to work on your base.

Uniden 2.4ghz digital house phone
There is a "Tone / Pulse" switch or program setting you want set to "Tone". It would be part of the base unit and not an option on the cordless handsets.

Can I add another uniden hand set to a uniden D1680 series
The Uniden D-1680 system can have up to 12 handsets registered to the base. (The phone system was sold in bundles with 0 to 11 accessory handsets.) However, this cordless phone system has been discontinued. I can only find used DCX160 handsets (the compatible accessory handset) on Amazon and E-bay.
I hope this helps.

Sync 2 versions of Uniden Dect 6.0 to work off the same base.
Yes, you can join an older and a newer version of Uniden Dect 6.0 cordless phones to work off the same base. Here are the steps to sync them:
- Disconnect the power cord from the base of both phones.
- Take the battery out of each handset.
- Wait for a few minutes.
- Reconnect the power cord to the base of the newer version phone and insert its battery.
- Wait for the phone to register on the base, which should take a few seconds.
- Once the newer phone has registered, repeat steps 4 and 5 with the older version phone.
- The older version phone should now register on the same base.
- Test the phones to make sure they are working properly.
If for some reason the phones do not register on the same base, refer to the instruction manual that came with the newer version phone for further troubleshooting steps.

Talk to your telephone service provider. There will be a fee.

(Uniden landline phones can make or receive calls; some models have a answering system. Most current models can even check if you have messages on the telephone provider's voice mail. (Sometimes, they'll give spurious voice mail information.) However, they don't have any built-in way of seeing any data (another call) from the telephone provider when the phone is in use.)
How to register a new handset?
Unfortunately, the EXI5560 is not an expandable cordless telephone system. The base can only use the handset to which it was originally linked at the factory.
Similarly, the DXA15588 handsets need to be paired to that base, not just to any Uniden cordless phone base. The first handset gets registered while it is charging in the main base. Charge the second handset fully in the charging base. Make sure not to use the phone for any incoming calls during the registration process. Take the first handset off the main base. You do not have to put this handset on the other charger and put second handset on the main base. Wait for the Charge/In Use LED to begin to flash. Wait at least another 5 seconds before removing the second handset from the main base. That's when you should be able to use the find HS button on the DXA15588-2 main base to get both handsets to beep.
I hope this helps. You can find the manuals for these phones at the following sites: https://www.uniden.info/download/ompdf/EXI5560om.pdf and https://www.uniden.info/download/ompdf/DXAI5588-2om.pdf .
