HP Pavilion a305w (DM181AR) PC Desktop - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
I have a card reader
this PC can be 17 years old , buy a HP Xw4600(win)why mess with something this old.why not say what the reader does?? just tiny clue first. my guess found at garage sale a 7-in-1 flash memory readers. and dont know that those are not standardized and only work on specific series of HP PCs? no card reader model state so??? no answer accurate possible. besides above. card, (camera flash media) my guess. The correct reader is 5069-5035-SPECthat number is off the hp offical parts surfer.HP has zero support on something this old, it's now super legacy status, long long forgotten!but the dark net (google)finds this free book on it, how lucky you .https://www.manualagent.com/hp/pavilion-a305w-desktop-pc/users-manual/page-2the?about the 7-in-1 memory card reader....that?the cable plug is keyed, just plug it into the correct mobo pin grid socket. but my guess is you forgotto buy 5069-5035-SPEC this.my guess ? is you have the wrong motherboardor wrong reader, from HP, they must match, what works is going to the parts surfer, and looking up DM181ARit tells me , 5069-5035-SPECstatesFront I/O connector - Has two USB connectors - Panther/JaguarNO LONGER SUPPLIEDlooking deep in ebay, completeds non sold non offered in a long time.why do thIS AT ALLJUST BUY A DIRT CHEAP USB CARD READER,AND PLUG IT IN TO THE usb PORT AND then watch XP fail. as XP is now dead. and no Plug and play support, , that means dont buy any thing like thisunless the maker promises XP support direct from them.not MS, XP is DEAD at MS, now.same with VISTA!

How do I open dvd tray on hp m8120n?
On all CD/DVD look for a tiny hole on the front tray.. use a paper clip ... insert the paper clip in the little hole... do it gently .. it will open the tray.. ALL CD/DVD have the little hole.. so look for it.. remember the hole is as little as a paper clip .. like a pin head small...

Hp pavilion a305w isnt working
sounds like it is in standby mode..........try pressing and holding the power button until it turns off fully. then remove the power cable to reset the power supply, wait for 5 mins then plug in and try again,
it is also possible that you have a fault , possibly a failed power supply, it might be best to investigate that if the power reset doesn't work

Looking for something to boot from. Remove any USB drives or CDs. Then reseat the hard drive and check BIOS. If the drive is there and still not booting. You may need to load the OS. gl

I don't have any sound
Hi Moise, The problem described could be caused due to two reasons.1. Sound driver or software is missing 2, Sound card or hardware problemCheck:1. If the speakers are on and connected correctly to the PC2. Check with headphones if you have sound3. Check if the sound settings in mute.Once the above three checks are done.1. Try running system restore,to the date when the PC had sound.2. If the above step doesnot work redo the sound drivers
Download Sound driverRegardsMandeep Singh

How to stop pc from freezing up
Have you emptied all of your cookies and cache? Also, if you look through Google you can get a free tools download that can help with emptying any spyware on your computer. What I did was made sure all of my important things were on discs then took my computer back to factory settings. It takes awhile to do this because you have to delete everything after you download it to a disc but it is well worth it. After you have your computer back to factory settings and it is running faster remember to have your popup blockers on and remember to NOT go into websites that may harm the computer. There are free downloads on Google for most anything but you need to be careful which ones you choose on them too.
