How to reinstall fan after cleaning?

The fan should more than likely be blowing air out through the back of a desktop PC. I haven't seen a fan blowing in when it's installed in the rear. Most fans have arrows that tell you which direction they blow, if not plug it in and test it :)

My cd burner won't read or burn

is the burner being detected by your operating system..?If yes, then I would replace the burner. If no, then update your operating system and go to the burners manufacturers website and download the appropriate drivers and application software from there. Windows 7 has a habit of ignoring some hardware so make sure all drivers are upto date. The laser head in all optical drives do wear out and lose their potency so it may be that this drive has simply had it's day and needs to be replaced.

Front port of mic is not working?

If it used to work ..and now it does not .. try to take a look into the settings of the sound driver .. Actually into the sound manager .. it has a map with all in-let and out let used and ..what is assigned for them ...If you have chosen a 3 out-let scheme for the sound ..(5+1 for example ) .. you have been changed the function of the rear pink in .. , which is a mic in .. and now the front will be also changed into an out -let .. cause teh front are actually just derivations of the back in-lets and out-lets ..If you do not use an advanced scheme for the audio system ..and do not changed their original functions .. it may be a physical damage .. and you have to take a look on the main board .. on the front audio connectors and see what have been removed from the plug .. the original map for all the little pins can be found in the manual .. and the manual on the hp support site .You will need it in case that more than one pin was removed from that connector and you need to place them back ..and do not know which will go in where ... Good luck and lets hope it is just a driver thing .. By the way if you made changes in the driver and now you can not seam to get it back .. just reinstall it and will be defaulted ..

Multimedia card slot not working

If the card slot is not working the fault is either the driver being missing or the card reader is damaged .. If you know it works ... just go to the support site and download the driver for it and install it ..If the card reader was not a standard on this desktop , there is a possibility the driver is not on the hp site.. and you have to see what model is the card reader and what make and go to their support site ... (the card reader's manufacturer site )http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=3254035#N152If it seams that it has no driver fr the card reader i suggest to install the driver for the chip set .. maybe the card reader is not see cause it does not have all drivers for buses..another way to install teh driver is to go to device manager by click right on computer folder ..and in there select properties / hardware /device manager .. In the list look to see the card reader .. if it isn't present click right on computer in the list ..and select scan for hardware changes..It will scan and show all devices connected and with no driver.. If you are running windows 7 or vista you can try to select the reader when it appears in the list ..click right on ir and select update driver ..and let the windows look for a driver on line .. or select one in the list ..But the best will be to locate the exact driver and install it .Also if all seam OK but the reader still would not work open it and check the connections on the board.. This card reader is plugged on a usb port in the board .. and it may have an issue with the connecter ..Or try to install the usb 2.0 driver cause if this is a 2.0 usb device ..it may be not seen by the windows without this driver ..

My computer says Disk Read error. What should I

first go to bios settings and see if the sata bus is set on raid or achi and disable them ..and let it on ide compatible or on native .. and save the changes with f10 and exit .. If this was teh issue .. and you changed the settings and the raid driver was missing it will work again .. or .. you will just have to reinstall the operation system again .. and also change the settings I mentioned first .. or if you use it on raid .. make j\sure you have an operation system with raid drivers (windows 7 or vista ) or .. you load the drivers when you start the installing as 3rd party .. Also check the hard disk to be well powered and plugged in well

Pc won't start

If the beeping is intermittent it is probably a ram memory fault or a video card .. usually the beeping indicates that some device is not well plugged in the socket or is non functional ..and the beeps are usually indicating that the ram memory is faulty or not well plugged.. first remove it and [plug them back and see how it behaves..than try to plug them one at the time and see if it boot-s up and which one is to blame .. and change it .. or remove it if you have more than one and it is large enough to support the operation system ..Also check the video card cause it makes the same when it is not plugged well or it is dead.. If you have an on board card as well remove the agp or pci one .. and try to see if it works with the other .. if it does it means the video card is to blame .. and change it ..

Fan wont cut off on my hp pavillion a1410n

The fact that the fan s working it does not mean it is functional ..It can be a cpu fault or a video card fault or ...even a ram memory issue .. so ..my advice is to open it ..and check them all one by one .. If you have a pci or agp card and also one on board ...make sure you connected teh monitor into the lower one .. cause the on board one is automatically disabled..If you did plugged it well in the card .. and it is not working . usually a video card fault is signaled by a long beep ..and repeated in a while .. if there is no beep .. check it anyway to be well plugged and if you have another one in handy .. just try it on .. By eliminate them one by one .. or removing and trying them in another computer is the only way to check them if you have no tools.Another thing to check is the ram memory .. If you have more than one module .. just remove them all and try to see if it boot up at least until you see the logo .. with only one at the time .. when it works it means that one is goo d. and this way ..the last to check is the cpu .. and there is no other way but to try the system with another one .. on the same socket .. but if you check all others and seam good .. and the board is good .. than there is nothing else but the cpu ..The board seam to get at least some power .. so let it to the end in the elimination process ..

My HP desktop computer wont turn on, green light flashing in the back?

The green light flashing may indicate a damaged power source .. I suggest to check it or use another one just to see if the system boots up ..and after that order a new one only after you are sure this is the cause....when it plays dead .. the causes can be from the cpu .. or the cpu fan not working and this will keep it from boot .. or the motherboard itself .. even the ram memory must be checked but usually it starts and restarts in a loop when the ram is faulty .. and in other cases may have an amber light on the board.. so ..if there is no power the cause it is probably most likely the power source

Pc restarts automatically and unexpectedly

Good Evening Sunnyseber :

Hope that you are wellJ
You did not indicate the type of Operating System.
This document pertains to HP and Compaq computers with Windows Vista. If Windows Vista suddenly starts without warning, or restarts when you try to shut it down, it may be because your operating system is set to automatically restart when certain system errors occur. This feature of the Windows Vista operating system can be disabled. Use the information below to disable the Automatically Restart option. NOTE: In addition to the steps in this article, updating video card drivers is known to resolve many of the problems that can cause the computer to restart. Step 1: Disabling Automatically restart option to view error messages You can prevent the computer from restarting by turning off the Automatically Restart option:
  1. Click Start c00971562.gif .
  2. Right-click Computer , and click Properties
  3. Click Advanced system settings .
  4. Click the Advanced tab and select Settings in the Startup and Recovery section.
  5. Remove the check mark next to Automatically restart under System Failure .
  6. Click OK to close the Startup and Recovery window and click OK , again, and then close the System Properties window.
  7. Restart the computer. NOTE: The computer will no longer restart automatically when a problem occurs. Instead a blue screen appears with more useful information. You can now search for a resolution using the text from the error.

If I can be of further assistance, please let me know.

And, remember, always include the type of Operating System and the type of computer you own, when you submit your questions. It simply makes for much faster solutions.

Have a wonderful evening.
