Hey i have a hp

You have a very tough problem. You need to remove the outside metal to get to the motherboard. Look carefully to see if a card has lifted out of the board connector. See if the fan on the CPU is plugged in and running. If not, your CPU is probably fried. If it looks good, try removing the RAM chips and boot up to see if you get a beep code. This is good if you do. Put the chips back in order and take out an external video card. See if you get beeps ( you may not have this card, it may be built in) See if a lot of dust has collected everywhere and clean it up. try tightening up whatever you can and try booting again with your finger holding down a keyboard key. This should cause an error and a beep code. If it does, try booting normal, going into setup with either esc del or F10. If you get to post you have won.

There is no power to the system at all I think its

You can have the power supply tested if you have the proper equipment. I'm not sure where you're located if you're in Illinois near Chicago I would test it for you for free. If you're somewhere else in the country you can either take the whole computer, or if you're somewhat mechanically inclinied you could take the power supply out of the computer and take it to a local electronics shop. They will test it for you. Most of them will do it for free. Replacing it is pretty straight forward, I was able to walk my sister through it to do her's a few months ago.

My hp media centerm7250n computer wont boot up

Disconnect the "data" and "power" cables from the disk-drive.
Boot from the Recovery DVD, just to prove that your computer can boot. Of course, you may get an error-message, when no disk-drive is detected, but you will have proved that your computer can boot properly.

Connect a different disk-drive, and boot again from the Recovery DVD, to confirm that it will boot, when some "other" disk-drive is detected.

Wont boot, not even from CD, won't open setup or

At first you insert your system disc on your cd/dvd rom driver and restart your computer. Now press F2 or DEL until you get your BIOS option. Now go to advance option then boot option in that. Now change your first boot option to CD/DVD ROM DRIVE and save that change by pressing F10. Now restart your computer and continue your installation. Thank you.

Does anyone know how to perform a system restore

Hi,

I guess you would want to run the system recovery not restore as restore just takes the computer to an earlier date it does not delete anything .So as you said that u want to take the computer back to its original factory settings u need to first disconenct all the esternal devices along with the cable for the internte and then if u have XP then u need to tapp the F10 key repeatedly as soon as u turn the computer on and need to keep on tapping it until u get the system recovery page.Once ur there then u need to follow the onscreen instruction until u get to a page that has ADVANCE OPTION ...need to click on that and then select destructive recovery and then click on next .The recovery will start automa tically and format the computer .
If u have vista then u need to tapp the f11 key, tapp the key until u get the screen that says revovery manager ... then select the advance option and then select system recovery... then click on next and then tje recovery will start automatically ...once it complets 100% restart or click on finish .Run the basic setup by follo wing the onscreen instruction ..

All the best

26 pin connecter on power supply removal

Are you asking how to remove the 26-pin connector to the system board from its socket? There is a little clip on one side of it - just squeeze this and pull the plug out of the socket. You may have to use a little force or pull each side out a bit at a time.

Replacing my dvd burner

Not a problem. If you are replacing a drive, be sure it has the same interface, IDE, EIDE, etc

Google the specs on your current drive (take it out and get the manufacturer and model). In addition to EBay, it may be worth looking at www.nextag.com great proce comparison site and great vendors. I start all and finish most of my hardware shopping there.

Brands are important. Pioneer, Sony.. make sure it is reputable. a few extra $$$ goes a long way.

Hope this helps. Please rate and comment if it does.

Thanks,

Omar W.
