My Epson R1800 prints grey and not black for text.

This isn't a solution, merely an echoing of the problem. I'm using it with a Mac and have had the problem since using it with a Mac as opposed to a PC. Did you or anyone ever get a definitive answer on this? It's driving me crazy!

I started to print then

Please follow the following steps.
1)Turn off the printer. 2)Shutdown the PC to which the printer is connected. 3)Remove the USB/Serial cable through which the printer is connected to the PC and reconnect it back. 4)Now switch ON the PC(only PC and not the printer) 5) Let the PC boot up and login to windows. 6)Now switch On the printer, PC should detect the printer automatically now.
Now you will be able to print.

Epson stylus cx4200 all-in-one?

1. Make sure the printer is turned on.
2. Make sure the document cover is closed, then closed, then open the scanner.
(Do not open the scanner when the document cover is open).
3. Press and release the ink button. The 'On' and 'Ink' lights flash.
If one of the cartridges is low or empty the printer moves that cartridge to the 'ink out' mark. Go to step 4.
If no cartridges are low or empty the ink cartridge holder moves to the ink replacement position. Go to step 5.
4. Pree the 'ink' button again.
If more than one cartridge is empty or low the next cartridge moves to the 'ink out' mark.
Once the printer identifies all the empty or low ink cartridges the print head moves to the ink cartridge replacement position.
5. Open the cartridge cover, squeeze the tab at the back of the empty cartridge and lift it out.
6. Before you open the new cartridge package shake it four or five times and remove it from the package .
(Don't remove or tear the label on the cartridge otherwise ink will leak out) .
(Don't touch the green chip on the front of the ink cartridge - you could damage the cartridge).
7. Place the new ink cartridge into the cartridge holder and push it down till it clicks into place.
8. Replace any other cartridges that need replacing.
9. Close the ink cartridge cover and press it until it clicks into place.
10. Close the scanner.
11. Press the 'ink' button. The printer starts charging ink and the 'on' light starts flashing . This takes about a minute . When it's finished the 'on' light stops flashing and remains on and the 'ink' light goes out.

Make sure you have all of you feed paper out. Look on the right hand side of the feed load slot for a diagram that will show you which way to put it in. It is etched or indented now and you will not see any different color.

Paper does not feed; it

Hi mfsimonlaw

Check the roler, there are things that block the paper, if necessary, you must open the printer casing to remove the object.
before that, use the paper as hard as glossy paper. then do roller cleanning through printer properties.

thanks®ards

Everytime I go to print something the paper get's

Seems to me that there is something blocking the paper path. Perhaps a paper clip or a pen ? Is there an access door on the rear of the printer. If so, open up and check to see if the jammed paper is hitting something or has a "dent" in it where it's hitting the object. Good luck .

How do I clean the print heads?

Click on the Start button if you have Windows XP. If you have Windows Vista, click the Windows icon that resides in the lower left corner of your computer screen.

Click on "Control Panel," then "Printers and Other Hardware." Finally click on "View Installed Printers or Fax Printers."

Right-click on the name of your printer and choose "Printing Preferences." This should open a new window; next look for a tab or button marked Maintenance, or something similar.

Find the button that says "Print heads" or "Clean the Print heads" and click on it. You may be asked to choose which print heads; choose them all if you are. Make sure there is paper and ink in your printer, and that it is turned on ahead of time.

Take out the page your printer has printed and see if there are any grids or boxes missing. If there aren't, then you can just exit the program--your print heads are not clogged. If there are grids missing, then click on the "Cleaning" or similarly worded button.

Once the cleaning process has completed, print another page to be sure that your print heads are no longer clogged. If they are still clogged, repeat Steps 1-5 until your printer is printing clearly.
