Epson Stylus CX4800 All-In-One InkJet Printer - Page 8 Questions & Answers
I just changed color cartridges and nothing is
Go thru the panel to change cartridge. See if that help. Then turn off and wait for 15 min.
Hello, In Purchasing Epson's CX 5400, CX4600, & CX7400 and more, I found out that Epson does not like Generic Printer Cartridges. That sounds like your problem. Also in Purchasing the Brother's . Color that should be Yellow, will turn out Green, etc. These printers have a chip, that will detect if it is Generic or Genunie. When using Generic Cartridges, it will print lines thru the words, stripes across the picture and also do a mix match with the colors.
That's what these Companies do., so they can keep selling the ink cartridges. Some Printers, are able to use Generic, but you have to fill them up yourself and I heard, quite MESSY.
So I learned, thru trial and error, that you must use the ORIGINAL Genuine Cartridges for these PRINTERS. I had to replace the printer, but Epson, Lexmark & Brothers are always on sale. My Brother & Epson cost me $50.00 with Rebate. Don’t waste too much ink in cleaning it.
This is the only advice I can give you. If you find this helpful, pls rate me.
Thanks and Good Luck :0)
Epson won't print
click on start and go to printers and faxes and look for your printer right click on it then make it the default printer close the window and try it again, if this does not help let me know and I will try to help you figure it out. Be sure it is not checked on the fax part of the printer, sometimes it will stick on fax and not go back to printer. happens to me every other week. Thanks for using fix-ya.
Using knockoff ink, Epson allows repalcement only
Please do not for a minute beleive that Epson endorses or allows the use of refilled ink cartridges or third party cartridges. It is just not true.
Consider this:
I have to ask this question of you, just to make sure this is not an issue. Are you using a factory new ink cartridge?
Please consider the following:
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
If you are using factory new cartridges, then please call the manufacturers Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges

My Epson seems like it's not grabbing the paper to
After so much paper goes through the rollers they pick up dust and
does't stick. Some models you can unplug and then use a q tip soaked in
alcohol to clean the roller. Others require you to take them apart to
clean. If you have to take it in to get fixed then check out the new
ones from a computer store. Sometimes its cheaper to get a new printer
than go get yours repaired or cleaned. If you do decide to have it done
look really close when they get done and ensure the rollers were
cleaned with alcohol. Otherwise they might still have a oil coating on
then and that causes them to slip also, especially on photo paper. They
will argue in some places that the alcohol will dry out the rubber and
it will age and crack. Although this is true I have yet to see a dry,
aged or cracked pickup roller, even 15 years in the business. I think
that's because it takes longer to age and crack a rubber roller than it
does to just wear out the machine.
All the lights on my Epson Stylus cx4800 are
It has come to the end of it's service life - officially. Basically that means change the ink blotting foam under the print heads and reset it. There is an unofficial reset program that I can confirm works and will restore it to it's former self. Try Googleing 'Epson waste reset utility'.
