Jeff, that has to be in the manual - you simply missed it.

The 29385GE1 isn't an answering machine. There is no greeting on it.If you have a separate answering machine connected to your phone line, consult its documentation. If you subscribe to a voicemail system offered by your phone company, contact them for instructions.

Check to make sure the wall adapter to the phone is working, if yes! the problem is in the processor driver ic that drives the LCD. But I think it is more than likely your power adapter is bad, if you have a digital meter it easy to confirm or you know somebody can help.

Take your phone to a radio shack store and ask them to change the batteries for you. They do this for no charge except the cost of the batteries. Tell them to show you how to open the phone.

That beep means that you have another call coming in. If you want to take the other call you can tell your first caller to hold then push the hang up button one time and say hello. Now you will be speaking to caller number two. To return to caller one just push the hang up button a second time.

here is the owner manual , to much to type , but start at storing a phone number in MEMORY , start reading at the word MEMORY in the user guide .you need to list a phone number in memory and then assign a number to it for future speed dial , yet they use the term memory . can be accessed while on the hook or off .

That will be because the static was at the callers line, not at your end. At this time of year it is water in junction boxes at the caller's residence. If it was on every call, it would be down to your connections.

Remove all the phones on the system. Remove all the handset batteries. Plug in one old style corded phone to the main phone jack, it is normally the one closest to the front door. Do you have dial tone? If not, it is your Telco. If you have a dial tone, plug all the other phones in testing for a dial tone as you go.
