20 Most Recent Dell 810 All-In-One InkJet Printer - Page 2 Questions & Answers

Hi
Disconnect the unit completely from the AC outlet for 5 or 10 minutes, then plug it back again. It will works.
Also I suspect it may be a loose power switch, or a problem with the power supply.
If it is a USB printer that derives power through the USB cable and not from a seperate power cable, then check the USB cable. That may be the source of the problem if the cable is bad.
Try the following solutions in the order presented to resolve the issue...

Solution one: Press and quickly release the Power button
Press and quickly release the Power button ( ) to start a Power On/Off cycle. Do not hold down the button .
Press and quickly release the Power button
If you press and hold the Power button too long, the product might turn on and then off without restarting. If this happens, press and quickly release the Power button ( ) again.
If these steps resolved the issue , you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
If the issue persists , continue to the next solution.
Solution two: Check the electrical connections and outlet
Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet, or the power strip or surge suppressor.
NOTE: The power cord detaches from the power module. The term power supply refers to both the power module and the power cord.
Carefully inspect the power cord for visible damage.
If the power cord or power module shows any damage, contact HP to replace the power supply.
Disconnect the power supply from the back of the product.
Wait at least 30 seconds, and then plug the disconnected power supply into an electrical outlet. Do not use a power strip or surge suppressor.
If the green light (LED) on the power supply does not light up, contact HP to replace the power supply.
Reconnect the power module to the product.
Press and quickly release the Power button ( ) to turn the product on.
If the product still does not turn on, connect the product to an electrical outlet in another room, and then quickly press and release the Power button ( ) to turn on the product.
If the product turns on , the electrical outlet in the original room caused the issue.
If the product still does not turn on , continue with the next solution.
Solution three: Check the USB cable
Disconnect the USB cable from the back of the product.

Press the Power button ( ) to turn on the product.
If the product turns on with the USB cable disconnected , replace the USB cable.
If the product still does not turn on , continue to the next solution.
Solution four: Check the battery
If your HP product has a battery, follow these steps:
Check the battery light. If the light is red, recharge the battery.
If the battery light is still red after recharge, replace the battery.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf-JAVA/Doc/images/c01468528.jpg( chek the figure)
1 - Slide the battery release slider in the direction of the arrow
2 - Remove the battery
Instructions for recharging and replacing a battery are available on the HP Web site.
Solution five: Replace the power supply
If you have completed all of the troubleshooting steps and are still experiencing a problem, contact HP to replace the power supply for your product.
Solution six: Service the printer
If you have completed all the steps listed above and are still experiencing a problem, service the product.

The black ink cartridge is used to print in grey scale mode.

It is therefore not possible to print in grey scale using only colour ink cartridge.

The scanned image could be a TIF or BMP file, which can be quite large.

Download the FREE 'GIMP' (Graphical Image Manipulation Program), and install it.
Load the image. Crop it (to reduce size). Use 'Save As' to save as a GIF or JPG or PNG file,
which automatically compresses it.

Hallo Rose,

Probeer het formaat van scannen goed te zetten.
Het kan zijn dat de scanner groter of kleiner scant dan het papier.
Of scan het gewoon en verzend het als bijlage.
Derde optie is om de software te updaten.

Groetjes!

Clean off the thin plastic strip that runs along the place where the head moves. It may have ink on it. Use a soft cloth moistened with water and gently rub the strip back and forth. Also make sure the sensors at the ends of the head run are clean. Use compressed air and also if you can, clean out the sensor with a q-tip moistened with water,

Hi,

This is a common problem and few times along with funny noise, you might also get a scanner failure message. Before i assume it to be a hardware failure, there are few steps to be taken.

To fix this issue the first step is to reinstall the printer software. Find your installation disks for your printer and then follow these simple steps:

1. Start -> Control Panel -> add/remove programs
2. Find all printer software that is installed on your computer from this list and remove it entirely using the change/remove icon
3. Restart your computer
4. Install the software that came with your computer.

This should fix the problem with your printer. If not just let me know and we will continue troubleshooting.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Hi,

what is your operating system? XP, Vista, Windows 7.
Did it work before?
Or are you trying to set it up for the 1st time? Vista and Windows 7 are both doing automatic installations of the drivers from Windows updates.
What exactly is not working? Is your printer not listed in Printers? Or is there any error message at the printing some pages?
First thing you should do is to go to START > Control Panel > Printers and Faxes (depends on OS) and remove all of the installed printers, if there are any.
For a complete backtrack removal of the registry entries, you could install and run the CCleaner, run Registry cleaner and reboot. Finally try to reinstall the printer once again. If there came any CD with your printer, put it in, follow the stepps and dont forget to plug your printer in when you are asked for, not before! And reply to my questions, we can find a straigt forward solution..
