I replaced the batteries, but it still says lo
in some thermostats it is required that you have a common lead hooked to Thermostat and back too the transformer in the air handler unit the batteries are used as a back up in the event the power goes out too keep your program in thermostat. if the common lead is not attached your thermostat is being powered by the batteries only and not the system control power, and will drain batteries fast.

Paula, remove the cover of the thermostat and look for a model number. The actual thermostat may have to be removed from the sub-base to find it. There may be either a long line of pins on the sub base that matches up with holes on the back of the thermostat when you re attach it....or there may simply be a 3" long ribbon connector that makes the connection.
Once you have the correct model number call Honeywell Customer Service at 1 877 841 2840 and work your way through the menu until you get to 'if you a homeowner push this number'. Once in touch with a live troubleshooter, they should be able to assist you in programming. You should know what kind of system you have, gas, electric or heat pump heat with central air.
You MUST have the correct model number BEFORE you call.

Why doesn't the fan come on? Used to work fine with the old thermostat.
Some of the new programmable t-stats have to have the fan configured to run in the heat mode. I'd suggest going though the configuration menu and check to see that it is set correctly. I'd bet its not. Some furnaces require the stat to turn on the fan in the heat mode just like it turns the fan on in the cool mode whereas other brands of furnaces have the fan control built into their control scheme.
