Logic says replace the black cartridge...AGAIN!! However, you can put the machine in 'disable cartridge check' mode which is found in the diagnostics menu. This will allow you to remove/interchange cartridges to help identify problem cartridges. Most importantly this will allow you to identify whether you have a black cartridge slot problem which makes it a machine problem or whether you just have a bad cartridge. First thing I would do is run the machine without the black cartridge and see if noise disappears. Good luck!!
Check for bad cartridge, or out of paper, possible small piece of per still jammed. Unhook the usb and see if you can print a manual test, usually depress the one of the buttons on top will print an engine test...
If the machine is still printing normally - don't worry about it. If the cartridge is a refill, or you have re-installed a part used cartridge the printer will have registered a serial code or the chip has not been replaced with a fully compatible one. If the cartridge is an original and still within it's expected life, you may have a developing problem with the printer.
