Lens mechanism isn't good to work properly so camera shut down the power. Try to tap the lens/ camera while power up.

Have you tryed rechargeable batterys on the camera, generally they are higher quality and should work better.

What you probably need to have done is a good cleaning on the camera. Usually cleanings are cost effective. You could bring it to a Geek Squad® precinct in a Best Buy™ store and they could send it out to have it serviced. I hope this helps!

Unfortunately, there is no option to do this on the camera. I would recommend connecting the camera to the computer and then delete from there. It will be way faster and easier.

Look at 4-buttons control near LCD. One has Clock sign. It calls Timer. Press it and your camera will take picture after few seconds pause.

I was having the same problem a while back with my camera.

I chatted with someone from Sony online support, and after following their prescribed steps, the whole deal just got worse.

The lines got bolder, and instead of just being bands of light, they're now a dark, solid grey. They told me to send it in for repair, but seeing as I don't have my receipt, that's not really an option.

But apparently that's all that can be done about it.

If u r unable to see live picture on LCD screen in camera mode, it means CCD Imager of camera isn't working. Contact nearest Sony service shop for proper solution because it requires CCD Imager replacement.
