Need memory card

The E317 uses MMC or SD cards. MMC cards are getting hard to find, but SD cards should be available at just about any department, electronics, or office-supply store. Make sure you get an SD card, 2GB and smaller, and not the larger SDHC cards.

You don't need any software. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

You'll need to format the card in your camera using the camera's format feature to get it working properly again. But first, you'll need to recover those lost photos. See the corrupted card procedures in this linked article.

Pink screen

It sounds like the LCD screen has gone out or the processor/sensor might be bad. If the camera can still take normal pictures which show up fine when downloaded to the computer then it is probably the screen but if the pictures are effected at all and show up weird looking or not at all then it might be the other. I would recommend taking it into a camera shop for a definitive conclusion.
