20 Most Recent Dell 1503FP 15" LCD Monitor - Page 2 Questions & Answers

Is the cable connected securely? You may need to check your video card also. You may be able to disconnect the cable and get a red, green, blue icon on the screen. If that appears normal then there is nothing wrong with the monitor itself, it may be the cord or the video card.

Hope this helps!

To my knowledge, there is no easy fix. If the LCD is not powering on and your AC adapter indicates there is power, then it is in the circuitry of the LCD assy and your best bet is a TV repairman.

Odds are, that you can buy a replacement cheaper that the cost to repair that one (1800FP is an 18" LCD by the way) You can buy a 19" Wide aspect Dell LCD at Walmart for $199

Yes, The largest of the 2 boards in there. (left side of the monitor if you were looking at it from the fornt.)

If you can get a photo of it, it is possible it could be a different variation in your monitor. They tend to slap them together with whatever parts they have.

You both have a collection of dry solder joints and or bad capacitors. Check for any sign of buldging capacitors on the power supply board and replace as needed with the exact same values.
The dry joints in the solder are normally around the larger items on the board like transformers etc and places that alot of heat builds up. Check the regulators and other area's near there, and also check areas that sit above them when the monitor is in normal operating mode..hot air rises..too bad electrical engineers work on flat screens =)

Good luck to you both.

Not really its better to go for an LCD screen , its better in colour and power efficiency & space so in the long term it pays itself off

Windows 10 right>? no OS told. but is windows sure.
\my guess is a dead DRIVE, if the drive does not PnP show up
that means A: it has no power, or B: the PnP chip inside is dead..
C : cables bad..
PnP means plug and play, and is a chip in all things that tell the PC WHO AM I, Identification even USB devices, same and all cards and RAM and yes HDD, and DVD drives
does the tray button work, eject? if not it has no power.(or is brain dead)
if you reverse the cables on the 2 drives, does the problem follow the
the DRIVE or cable ports.?
if follows the cables, . replace the cables, SATA..
the 3847 is only 6 years old , are any drives older?
that is it, besides testing any Drive on 2nd PC to gain proof, easy./

Dell laptops don’t come with a bios password by default. You or someone else who have used this laptop in the past, must’ve set that up. There is no factory default password.

Try this: Turn your computer on. As soon as you see the Dell logo appear on the screen, press and hold "CTRL" and "F11." This starts the Dell PC Restore by Symantec application.

well;, do go to dell.com, hint1, fixya is not DELL, ok?
and reload the printer software from scratch.
we all know windows forced updates can be bad
what I do use turn off driver updates.
ends the pain.

I have pro w10., and can delay many other updates for 3 month.
this is so I dont get 1/2 backed updates,

learn how to turn off driver updates.
Is my big hint.

ever like read the the first page

I guess this is your printer,l right.
http://www.dell.com/support/home/bg/en/bgbsdt1/product-support/product/dell-1133/research

it says clear as day "w10 not supported"
but then again I do not have your full service tag data facts
only the words 1133 to go on.

that can mean it works one day and the next
or not at all
or not for the next w10 update.

easy no?

if I found the wrong printer, then you go there and answer dells questions fully, and then land on exact facts exact models.

Your S-Video connection is referring to a round plug for a TV input signal. Most computers will not have this connection unless you have a TV based video card. If your using a TV 'monitor' as your computer's video device, their will either be a button on the monitor or your remote to allow you to choose the input signal. If you are using a VGA or HDMI or DVI cable as the connector between the two devices, most likely, the light is referring to one of these, as its video source. You will need to match the cable & monitor source detected to get a usable picture output.

Good luck.
Toby.
