How much do thay cost
They are no longer made. ebay it. for a used model don't spend more than $150 for one. Even when they were new they were barley over $250... I can put you on a list if you want me to find one for you I have several customers on a list looking for cobra 148gtl old ver. and the 99v's.....
Freq counter just keeps going
sounds like the mixer crystal. When this part goes bad it makes the radio go way off frequency. It will probably need replacing.
Galaxy 99 v
Likely the radio has a blown detector diode on the board as FM uses a special demodulation detection circuit called a quadrature detector or a discriminator detector the SSB circuit uses a product detector so the only other thing used in detection is the Am detector Diode. That is the first place to look if it is not bad it will be somewhere in that circuit.
Watts to high ,how do i turn the output downin my galaxy 2517
First I would check to see that no one has turned up the power supply voltage over 13.8 volts this is sometimes done and called volting it is a very poor practice and results in damaging the radio. If this has not been done then seek professional help there is a calibration power out put adjustment.
The frequency goes off track
This sounds like a ground maybe a little loose ground in side the radio. Let me ask you if you can still use the radio with it off of freq. or does totally loose its brains with no rx or tx on right channel while it is displaying the freq. drift? reason i want to know is there is alot circuits that are involved in this radio for both the display and actual freq. error.
My 99 dose not rech out very far i need to tune it...
Take off the cover, and hook it back up to antenna, and power, set it on AM mode, mike gain at minimum, RF power to HI, connect watt-meter to ant. out-put, adjust VR13, key the mike adjust it for 8-10 watts, do not go any higher than that because you will damage the transistors...Then replace cover and enjoy....hope this helps.....
Galaxy dx99v, bad squeal when I key the mic
Your microphone wires may be shorted take the mic plug apart (small screws) Now check for frayed wires touching or twisted together!
With the wires being resolderd or taped apart put back together
with the U pointing downward you shout have :
Right corner bottom Sheild ground!
Left corner bottom Black recive
Right corner top White or yellow this is Audio wire
Left corner top RED Transmit or PTT wire
If wiring looks good the problem is in the Mic take to servicer!
Lsb its off frcwense but upr and am are fine
Adjust L21 WITH A NON METALIC ALIGNMENT TOOL THAT FITS INTO THE L21 SLUG to get it on frequency. IF YOU USE A METALIC TOOL, THE FREQUENCY WILL CHANGE WHEN YOU REMOVE THE TOOL. IF YOU TRY TO USE A TOOL THAT IS NOT THE CORRECT TOOL, YOU COULD DAMAGE THE SLUG AND END UP WITH A LARGER HEADACHE THAN YOU HAVE NOW..
Weak xmit - draws excessive current
Hi and welcome to FixYa,
On your posted description of the problem, initial check would be a possible leak of either the drive transistors(TR44 to TR46) or the finals (TR43 & TR56) for 2004 and up versions. Others to check would be TR55 & TR51.
Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.
CB RADIO TRC 446 WILL NOT RECEIVE
IF YOU CANT RECIEVE THAT IS A VERY GOOD SIGN THAT YOUR SWR MATCH IS
OFF....I DONT KNOW IF YOU MATCHED UP YOUR RADIO WITH YOUR ANT.IF NOT
YOU CAN BUY A CHEAP SWR METER @ RADIO SHACK...CHECK THAT YOUR COAX
CABLE IS OK TRY TO REPLACE THE COAX......GOOD LUCK
Galaxy dx 99v
SOUNDS LIKE TO ME.. IT IS THE IC CHIP THAT DRIVES THE LED DISPLAY.YOU MY HAVE A COLD SOLDER JOINT AT THE CHIP........I WOULD OPEN IT UP TRACE THE RIBBON CABLE FROM....( MIGHT EVEN BE A BAD CONNECTION ON THE RIBBON CABLE..MOVE THE RIBBON CABLE AROUND FOR A BAD CONNECTION)TRACE IT TO THE CHIP WITH POWER ON BE CAREFUL OF AC VOLTAGE IN THE UNIT PROBE THE PINS OF THE CHIP WITH A PIECE OF WOOD OR PLASTIC WHILE LOOKING AT THE DISPLAY IT'S ONE OR THE OTHER GET A SOLDERING IRON AND FIX THE CONN......IT COULD EVEN BE THE LAST OR FIRST WIRE ON THE CABLE WHICH WOULD BE THE GROUND.....GOOD LUCK
I got a dx99v cb
You may have a bad regulator transistor.
Good Luck on this problem, and I hope this has helped.
