No water is coming in and its almost like it is 3/4 of the way through the cycle and stuck in the same position.

If the wash motor continuous to run but the cycle is frozen then most likely the thermostat or heater is faulty. Try to run one of the short cycles like rinse only to confirm if the cycle is completed.

Bosch she43co5uc runs long

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

Based on your description I'd say the issue could be the control...unfortunately. I'd first suggest looking at the link below to see if this recall is applicable to your machine. There are she43c series machines included, but it depends on the serial number as well ("FD" number)

example:

macmarkus_1017.jpg
As I mentioned, what you're describing is commonly associated with a heating fault on Bosch built dishwashers, insure your water coming in is at least 120F...cold water inlet temp will make it run extremely long ( this applies to various models including Bosch, Thermador, Siemens, Gaggenau, and Neff ).

**B/S/H/ also issued a recall on certain models between 1999 - 2006 depending on the model & serial number, you can check with yours but...you'll need the serial number too. Here`s the link if you want to see for yourself **

http://microsites.boschappliances.com/safetyrecall/dishwasher/

If you feel capable of checking this on your own, you can activate a "diagnostic" through the electronic control, but there's a better way (in my opinion) to visually inspect the control yourself...it really isn't very complicated.

It will require you to remove the control from the unit and then remove the control from it`s plastic housing and look for a burnt solder contact on the printed circuit board.

dabfa62.jpg

The culprit will 99% of the times be one of the pins from the heater relay,

9f1823d.jpg

**Flip this over and inspect the solder joints, it will be obvious when you see it.**

hence the unit sit`s and takes longer & longer to finish because it can`t heat to advance or unless the 2 buttons for "cancel" are pressed...this can also manifest as a long cycle time as I mentioned and eventually display's "1" on units with a display and usually very poor cleaning, no heating ( don't be fooled by the homes inlet hot water temperature ) as a result.

You can also run the unit through a regular or econo cycle ...any cycle with the exception of rinse & hold, and with the door panel removed place an ammeter on the gray/black wire it should draw 11 amps during the wash cycle...after it fills and the flow switch indicates it has adequate water to engage the heater.

i.e. ( this may differ from your specific model, but the same rules apply )

f57273b.jpg
**My Opinion - if you or someone you know is proficient at soldering, a lot of times it can be remedied by simply repairing the solder...but it has to be done well...or it will not last.
Bosch recommend`s replacing the control and I don`t pretend to speak on their behalf nor do I profess to know better. This is just my experience (it work`s) and my opinion (why buy new if one can repair ?)

**Please disconnect the power or turn off the breaker before attempting any service to the dishwasher.**

If you do not feel comfortable attempting this service, call a local pro, preferably one familiar with Bosch/Thermador/Gaggenau/Siemens, to service your machine. With any luck this will be covered through the B/S/H/ recall notice.

Let me know what you find or if I can assist further. Thank`s for visiting "FixYa" for your repair inquiries. Please take a moment and rate this solution to it's helpfulness. Good luck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

My dishes are no longer getting clean. Is it

Hello Sue. There are a few things you can do. let's begin by giving the interior of your dishwasher a good cleaning. To do this, with an empty dishwasher, toss in 2 cups of vinegar and then run your longest and hottest wash cycle. Repeat monthly.

Next, consider changing your detergent over to a product like Electrasol Dishwasher Detergent with Powerball Tabs. That product gets the highest marks from my customers.

Finally, always run the hot water into the sink until it reaches max. temp. before you start the dishwasher. Joe

Thanks for choosing Fixya!

My Dishwasher stopped working. When I switch it on

Hi There,

That's the classic sign of water having leaked under the washing compartment/tub. This causes a "float" to rise, tripping the micro-switch which activates the anti-flood protection. This closes the water inlet valve and runs the pump to expel any water which may still be in the washing compartment to prevent any further water from leaking under the tub. The motor you can hear running is the drain pump motor which will run constantly if the dishwasher is on.

To check whether you have water under the tub, you can remove the kick-plate under the door and look into the plastic base under the tub with a torch. Alternatively, unplug it, disconnect the water supply and remove the dishwasher from under the counter. Put some towels or old sheets on the floor in front of the washer and tilt it forward a little. If water runs out from under the washer you have a leak!

The dishwasher will probably run again once you have drained the water from underneath but it's not advisable and the problem needs to be investigated. Possible causes are worn seals or a blockage causing water to back-up, but getting under the washer to find the cause and fix it often requires major dis-assembly of the washer, including removal of the door and lifting the entire tub off of the base.

Try testing for water under the compartment as described above and post back if you need further assistance.

Regards,
BElectric.

Washer tub is discolering and it has discolered

There could be several reasons for the film deposit inside dishwasher and on glassware.

What colour is the film - dark or white?

Are you using rinse aid? If you are in hardwater area then check the salt is adequate in the water softener chamber.

Fishy odor in the dishwasher and on the washed

would start by removing the filters and giving them a good clean out. also clean out the spray arms. then get a good quality dishwasher cleaner and put it on an intensive wash. this should clear any smells.

if not check where the outlet hose drains to, this may need a good cleaning as build up of gunge can occur

Our bosch dishwasher runs but no water is

Hi, welcome to Fixya. By the description you've provided, it sound's like the wash motor is either seized or just stuck, let's hope it's the later. Bosch had issued a service tip about this problem several years ago titled "Loosening Frozen Impellers" strange choice of word's considering nothing is froze..at least you'd hope lol. Essentially what it say's is this...Remove the pump filter ( inside the tub under the bottom rack ) locate the hole to your right down in the sump well, you should be able to see it with a flashlight so it's a well lit area. Once you've located this hole ( it's providing access to the wash impeller without pulling the unit from the cabinet ) reach in with a 8mm nut driver and locate the end of the impeller and turn it clock-wise until it feel's to turn freely. Give it a test perhaps in a rinse cycle before you put all the filter and screen back together. It should be fine unless the motor is seized, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it, try the repair tip for now. Let me know how that help's and/or if you need further assistance. Thank's for visiting "fixya" for you repair tip's. If this is indeed helpful please rate the solution accordingly, if not let me know. Thanks again and good luck. Macmarkus :)

Run a regular wash with no dishes in the machine, with normal dishwasher soap added with ½ cup of bleach, that should do the trick.

My new dishwasher wont drain

There's a few things you can look into that won't cost you any money.

First, manually remove as much water as possible and then check the sump area for paper or any other large object clogging the drain. A cup or so of water in the sump area of your dishwasher is normal and it is there to prevent the seals from drying out. The dishwasher will pump this old water out before beginning to wash.

Make sure the door is properly latched as the pump will not drain if the door is not latched properly.

Check the belt, drain line, air gap, drain valve and solenoid assembly, the motor, and the pump. If your dishwasher uses a belt to drive the pump, and it has broken or come off the pulley, replace it.

If you have recently installed a garbage disposer in your home, make sure that the drain plug on the disposer has been removed. It's just a little plastic piece that blocks the hole where you hook the dishwasher drain hose. If your dishwasher drains through the garbage disposer, you need to run the garbage disposer before you run the dishwasher to make sure that the drain is clear.

There is a drain hose between the drain valve or pump and the garbage disposal or drain line. If an obstruction has blocked this, then your dishwasher won't drain. The drain hose is connected by clamps to the drain valve and the disposer or drain pipe. Remove it and visually inspect it for a clog or a kink. Try to remove any debris. If it is in good condition, just put it back on, and if not, purchase a new one to install.

If you don't have an air gap in the drain line, at least use a high drain loop. Making a large loop about 18" off the ground with the drain line can prevent any back flow into the dishwasher from the sink.

If you have one, the air gap will be located on top of the sink. The air gap is there to prevent any siphoning of standing water from the sink. When your dishwasher drains, the air gap diaphragm will form a seal and allow the water to drain properly. If the diaphragm in the air gap is faulty, it’s possible that water can leak onto the cabinet and into the sink area. When this happens, then the air gap must be replaced.

Like the inlet valve, there is also a drain valve on most models. When no power goes to the drain valve it remains closed and prevents water from leaving the machine. When the valve receives power during the drain cycle, the solenoid opens and allows the water to leave the machine. If your drain hose is attached directly to the pump, you don't have a drain valve. The motor simply reverses and the pump sends the water in the opposite direction, which is out of the machine.

If the motor doesn’t turn or work properly, the dishwasher may not drain. Make sure you have power to the unit. If you notice that the motor hums but won't turn, it could be seized, and you probably need to replace it.

if you need to buy any parts, I have had alot of help from http://www.apwagner.com
Small objects can sometimes get stuck in the pump. When this occurs, you’ll need to open the pump and remove any debris buildup. The dishwasher pump is usually mounted directly to the motor and runs off the motor as well. The pump is also attached to the bottom of your dishwasher and pushes the water from the dishwasher.

Dishwasher really holds smells from soiled foods.

First check your main draining system. the entire gas escapes through your dish washer.

Clean the wash chamber with water. Do not try bleach as it may spoil the other parts. If still prefer to use, dilute and use.

For some time use a bucket of 10 to 15 liter and drain the dish washer out let. If the smell not noticed, it is eminating from the main drain system.
