Maytag Washer MHWE201YW00 F6E1 error code. Push start button and absolutely nothing happens. Already replaced CCU
The CCU talks to the MCU and that error codes means they are not talking. It could be the CCU unit is good and the MCU is bad. There are cases where the MCU has burned circuit traces on it. Also the door switch can cause the two units to not talk to each other,

Many machines have a Timer Mode that allows you to set machine to wash overnight or early in the morning to take advantage of cheaper electricity. If you have children I would urge you not to bypass. They are there as mandated by law after a child had his arm pulled off reaching in on a spin cycle. https://www.google.com/search?q=maytag+bravos+ecoconserve+washer+lid+lock+bypass Easier to buy and replace the lock. It appears it has 4 wires because it is a sensor and a lock.

Yes, they don't make them like they used to and it is definitely worth fixing. Black dust is almost certainly the belt. Pull the machine out and tip it backwards against the wall. Have someone hold it steady and look underneath with a flashlight. Worn bearings make a noise. Parts 30 on drawing 1 is your belt. $39 Canadian. It is a long belt! Make sure the pulleys are okay and the motor and gearbox turn freely.

How to remove maytag epic z drain pump
The first time I removed and cleaned out the filter pump on my Epic Z washer, there was a fabric sock over the pump filter cache for some reason. I don't see this mentioned anywhere and I can't imagine it's necessary. It seems to be a breeding ground for bacteria, mold etc. Has anyone else encountered this fabric over the pump filter?
