No cold water

Water Valve Maytag Original Top Load WasherIf the problem with your Maytag washer is that is not filling properly, not taking cold water, not taking hot water, or not taking any water at all. Or if the washer keeps taking water and overflows even when the washer is on the off position. The problem could be a bad water valve. To check it out, do the following. 1. Disconnect the washer from the wall outlet 2. Open the controls panel 3. Remove the cabinet 4. Set your multimeter to read more than 2000 ohms 5. Take a reading between the two terminals on the two solenoids on the water valve 6. The reading should be between 700 and 1800 ohms on each solenoid If the reading is infinity on any solenoid, the water valve is bad and most be replaced

Starts to fill then basically powers off

One style of this washer has a small board on it called an auto temp sensing board. I wonder if that might be your problem. Sounds to me like it is intermittent from your question and that leads me to believe the board has corrosion on the contacts maybe? I have found the possible cause to your fuse problem, I would suggest replacing your lid switch to the unit, this can cause you fuse to blow. Item #3 below is the switch Part# is 22003804, I and hopeful this will correct the problem for you. Is part should con with the Item #7 in the picture also, replace them both, made even be a different color. I think gray is the color right now.

WATER LEAKING FROM TOP WHEN START SPINNING,MY

Does this happen on any water level setting, or just on full load? If the machine is overfilling, the centrifugal force at the start of the spin cycle will throw the water up the sides high enough to overflow the top of the tub.

If the machine is overfilling just a little as I suggest, then the water level switch may be out of calibration or the water level hose may be partially clogged at the tub end. A quick fix in the latter case would be to disconnect the hose from the level switch and blow compressed air through it - it's a lot easier to get into the control panel than the side of the tub. A leaky hose would have a similar effect.

I can't get cold water, no matter which setting I choose.

There is a two way electronic valve right where the water fils into your tub, check the wires going to it first to see if they are disconnected, most likely the terminal is corroded and no longer able to conduct electricity. A new valve is around $60, I used a screw to make mine work after the terminal broke off from being rusted and to allow us to do laundry while I waited for the part o come in, and it is still working that way a year later, the part is in the box waiting until the valve fails again. The cold water wash and rinse does not

check your hoses if they are switched around..............hot water should be on the left and cold should be on the right...............if all is good, just try and switch it around and check.............the timer should not be a problem for water temps...........usually its the solenoid vavle or the temp switch.............

feed back would be good if this helps anybody........
if anything just message ................

Roaring sound on washing machine when spinning

Hi, It's more likely something caught in the pump or bad pump. Remove the belt under the machine and check the pump pulley for noise.
