Faults & possible causes to screen are given with illustrations. You can get an idea about the fault to an extent.
Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then
release the SETUP button.
Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator
blinks, then stays lit.
Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry,
the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further
programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try
one of the other codes for your brand.
Code SearchIf after trying "Direct Code Entry" your device does not respond, or if your
brand is not listed, try doing a search of the code library for your code by
following these steps.

To find the first digit, press each number button from 0 to 9 until the LED

digit has been found, the LED goes out.

The VCR and DVD recorder won't eject/open on command either, so my guess is the capacitors on the power board are dead. Upvote
