Sounds like the motor has failed. That part doesn't appear to be a spare, and they even charge you $45 for the security screwdriver. I am wondering how you know the heating element is ok when in order to gain access to the terminals in order to check it for continuity, you would have naturally checked the circuit to the element as you dismantled the kettle... It probably isn't the switch but of course it might be... The new fangled disc elements aren't as long lasting as the traditional type and there is probably a thermal fuse buried somewhere inside close to the element. If it is a cordless kettle, perhaps power isn't being delivered to the kettle from the base.

If the 'neon' light is on, the power is getting to the kettle, so if its not heating up then the element must have broken.

This kettle has a little white trip switch inside the 'socket' of the kettle (not the base unit). If its not heating, light is not on and the plug fuse is OK, then poke the white trip until it clicks.

The above is almost right, bu the clear plastic ring goes between the tan piece and the glass. That is step 6 comes just ahead of step 4 but on the same side of the glass. The clear plastic ring holds the tan piece firmly against the glass to keep it from rotating. The inside of the ring goes around the tan piece's three prongs. Note that the inside of the clear ring is not perfectly round the slight indents line up with the prongs.

Put very hot water in the bread pan and let it sit for about 30 mins. Then try again.

I would guess that most bread maker recipes would work. I would try the smallest loaf first, such as a 1lb. Or email manualsonline.com for a manual or contact the manufacturer. :-)

Either the circuit that is on is carrying a load that iis OK until you added sandwich maker. Is the toaster, toaster oven coffee pot being used at the same time? If not return it for a replacement. You paid for a new working unit and that is what you should get.
