Cuisinart DLC-8 Plus Motor Shaft Cover broken.

I had the same problem: Cuisinart sent a "replacement" sheath for my DLC-8E which turned out to be the wrong one. When I replaced mine, which was cracked, none of my blades would fit over the new sheath! I "solved" the problem by purchasing a new DLC-8E motor base on Ebay for only $9.99!

IDLC-10 Cuisinart food processor. that won't run when locked

Hi.

According to description, in the safety switch hole there should have been a plastic rod and a tiny spring. Those parts are missing.

This tiny parts for older are difficult to find. Call Cuisinart at number listed on owners manual. The part is often called safety lock.

If they do not have the part, then you will need to do repair yourself.

Note: as stated on the owner manual, appliances must not be modified with non original parts, and not even serviced from non-techs. For this reason I cannot suggest you to put a plastic rod to hold down the safety lock.

Regards.

FOLLOWED MANUAL INSTRUCTIONS BUT MACHINE DOES NOT

One of the major problems I have seen with food processors is the safety switch, which will not allow the motor to turn on if the bowl and top are not properly seated. The lever and/or switch sometimes wear to the point that they no longer work (easily). I'd do a bit more checking before I discarded the machine.

When i try using it, nothing happens. i cannot

Remove the work bowl, blades, etc from off the base.
Plug the processor in and press the ON pedal down.
Use a pen to press in the rubber button on top of the base - you should hear a sound.
Now reassemble the bowl - lock the bowl in so that the handle faces front; insert blade of choice; place the tab under the feed tube of lid slightly left of center of the work bowl handle and slide the lid counter-clockwise until it clicks into place; insert pusher and make sure it locks into place.
You should be good to go again.

With Cuisinart DLC 7E, how do you get it to start?

Work bowl handle should face the front of the processor, and feed tube/pusher should face the back of the processor. If it is still not working, call Cuisinart at 1-800-726-0190 as they are very hepful in helping you through the assembly.

Will not cut on

In order for the processor to work, the bowl, lid AND pusher must all be in place - if one part is out of place, it will act dead. The proper assembly varies by model #. If you call Cuisinart at 1-800-726-0190, they are very good at getting you through the proper assembly.

I have a small Cuisinart

Hi,

Your PowerBlend Duet™ comes with a food processor button. This button is the perfect speed for all your food processing tasks. Always use this speed when using the food processor. You may also use the Pulse button with this function for pulse-chopping.
To use your food processor, make sure that the bowl is assembled properly and the blade or slicing/shredding disc and the cover are locked into place.
When you use the control panel, the LED will light next to each button you press.
Press the On button. For continuous operation, press the Food Processor button. Motor will start if you have followed assembly instructions.
To turn motor off, press the Food Processor button again or the Off button.
For on/off operation, called pulse-chopping or pulsing, press the On button, press the Pulse button, and then press and release the
Food Processor button the desired number of times. Motor runs as long as you hold the Food Processor button down. The motor stops when you release control switch. Try it a few times.
You control the duration and frequency of pulses by the length of time you hold the Food Processor button down and the rate at which you press it. Pulses should be short bursts. Allow enough time between pulses to let food in work bowl fall to bottom.
Always use the Food Processor button for pulse/chopping. Never turn cover back and forth to start and stop processor.
