i got the same problem and i ground the green/white to the case of the unit. do i have to ground it to the chassis?

it sounds like you hardrive is going out or the eye in it you might to to go buy a new hardrive or get a new panasonic

Connect the light blue parking brake wire coming out of the back of the radio to the black ground wire also out of the radio to the black ground wire on the wiring harness.... Basically just ground the parking brake wire.. Itll work, I promise. I have the 7001u.

You can use the original receipt for this Panasonic then check with an the dealer first to see if they can give you the code.
If they can't, you have to check with Panasonic.
You have to show Proof of Purchase via original receipt.

Pherhaps the unit is not compatible with the type of video compression your trying to play, refer to the units manual to check what kind of files your are up to play.

id code is a security feature given for the product
Its not an unique code given by the manufacturer

You will have to go to main dealer with car documents, and the should be able to get the code for you, or recode your radio. Not sure how much they charge for this, but I doubt it is much.

you have to turn the unit on with the remote so the display is on the code entry screen, then press and hold the toggle button on the bottom right side of the screen for 10-15 seconds, basically hold it till the unit turns back on.....

you need the remote to power up the unit to get it to the code screen, then its just a matter of holding the toggle button down for 10-15 seconds, then unit will come back to life... this does work, i just paid a guy $40 to fix mine.....

cost me $40 bucks for this problem, watched the authorized servie guy from panasonic fix it, all you do is turn the unit it so the code screen comes up and then press and hold the toggle button in the bottom right side of the unit for 10-15 seconds, it will reset the unit for you, just keep holding it down and it will work
