Is there one of the attachments (If this unit stores attachments under this door?)-- is one of the attachments just a little out of its 'proper' spot?

Sometimes generic filters need to e trimmed down, to fit better than manufacture specific ones--

Can you see where it might be hitting?-- like by putting grease or some indicator on it, and seeing where it might be rubbing the lid?

Hope this helps-- if not, tell us more-- so we can help better--

Power head and wand has no power. Unit is less

Hi, I had the same problem with mine and found that if you plug the power head directly into the handpiece (bypassing the telescopic wand) and it worked only proved the problem is in the telescopic wand. The problem as I found was a broken terminal in the end that connects to the powerhead (female socket). As it is a non repairable part means replacement at $100AUS I have had my machine for 3 years and in this time have replaced the both powerhead once and the wand twice within 2 years of owning the machine. The wand has now gone faulty again 4 months after replacing it and consequently Electrolux only warranty spares for 3 months which I think is poor! Its a great machine but a little too delicate even if it is only used for domestic operations once a fortnight! I paid $700 for my Oxy3 3 years ago and wont be buying another Electrolux product due to poor service (customer and product):((

The power to rotate the beater bar only works

Is the power nozzle motor itself not working? If it's not, the problem could be the wiring, the switch, the vacuum power switch, the connectors from hose to machine, or the circuit board in the machine.
My best guess would be the connector from hose to vacuum. The vacuum connector are cheaply made and held in place by flimsy plastic.
If the pn motor is running, it's most likely a broken belt. Initially a worn or loose belt would cause intermittent operation of the brush. Replace it and the brush should work.
Depending on the part, your machine may still be covered by warranty. Check your manual or internet for warranty information.
If under warranty, take it to the store your purchased it from for repair or replacement.

I fear the motor has

Hi,

I don't think you need a new motor, but please stop testing the machine with live power. It's dangerous and unnecessary. Your tests indicate to me that the motor is fine and your thermal-fuse - I think this is what you referred to as "thermatrol" is blown. I assume you used an ohm-meter to test the continuity across the brushes? If so, and the reading was 0 ohms accross the brushes, then your motor is fine. Also, the 120v reading at the motor terminals with the power on shows that you are getting power to the motor. The reason there is no continuity at the motor terminals is because this circuit is routed through the "thermatrol". If the thermatrol is open-circuit, i.e. blown there will be no continuity here.

If you need parts, I can probably help you find a supplier, but let's establish which parts need replacing first! Please confirm the resistance readings from the brushes and we'll go from there, but no more live testing please, particularly the 120v A/C direct to the motor from the wall socket!

The powerhead brush died. The vacuum works just

there could be 2 reasons for this problem.

one) the powerhead is dead legit as in there is no power coming to it or the motor is actually dead.

2) something jammed in the brush and popped the reset button. The reset button is a red button located as your looking at the back of the powerhead on the right side. Usually a red square. Push it and it SHOULD start up again.

That being said, if you have done the reset button and it still does not work, that unit I beleive has either a 2 or 5 year warranty (cannot remember dont have the documentation in front of me) and if it is still covered under warranty for you, take it to your closest Vacuum repair shop. Do take the hose and powerhead with the cannister unit.

good luck

How do i open canister for cord retract repair

There are four screws under the lid, and there are two additional screws under the face plate for the controls display. You'll need a thin, flat blade screw driver to "pop" the face plate off. The two additional screws that you are looking for are deeply recessed about the bracket-nozzle park.

The vacuum won't turn on. plugged in, all lights

When switched on the vacuum goes through a self diagnosis test. Lights will come on for a while, then go out. If everything is okay, then the blue "Optimum" light will come on and stay on. If it turns of, a red indicator light should come on providing information on what's needed; i.e., filter or bag change needed.

My vacuum does not suction

Make sure the small circuit breaker in the power wand is set to on. If it goes off, then the wand won't work well at all.
Also, check the filter on top of the canister, that filter can adversely effect the suction. Not the bag into which the dirt goes

EL5 (large) powerhead

There is a no filter safety device part #1130912-01, maybe the new filter isn't in quite like it should be or this device has gone bad. Also check the brush roll and make sure it turns easily, if not then that could be the cause.

My electrolux oxygen won't turn on. Could it be

mcdevito75 here, The first thing is to make sure you are useing a live or good wall outlet. Then you can try the on / off switch a few times. If this doesn"t work it may be the switch itself. Look for an appliance repair center in your area.
